Cruising Iowa!
(The Hawkeye State)

Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)
Nr. of Cities: 12

The Iowa DLC brings American Truck Simulator deeper into the heart of the Midwest, delivering a blend of scenic rural highways, iconic farming landscapes, and charming small towns. As someone who loves the laid-back feel of midwestern driving, I couldn’t wait to explore it — and overall, it delivers a solid, atmospheric experience.

1. Endless Fields and Farmland Beauty
Iowa shines with its rolling fields. Driving across the state feels wide open yet peaceful, with gently curving roads and the golden hour lighting that makes the plains look stunning. It’s a perfect route for relaxed, long-haul trips.

2. Urban Highlights
Cities like Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Davenport serve as the main hubs, each offering a different character: Des Moines feels larger with freeway interchanges, while Cedar Rapids leans more industrial. Though the cities aren't as sprawling as big coastal metros, they feel lively enough and fit well with the state’s scale.

3. Relaxed yet Varied Driving
The road network offers a balanced mix of quiet county roads, sections of the Interstate, and occasional city bypasses. While you won’t find extreme mountain passes here, there are enough curves, river crossings, and changes in elevation to keep driving from feeling repetitive.

4. Agriculture and Industry
Deliveries tied to farming and food production feel authentic. Farming Machines Cargo Dlc has been updated bringing new cargo opportunities, which fits perfectly into the theme.

5. More Custom Depots
With the release of this DLC, SCS added many more custom depots. I like things to be asymmetrical and have an original touch. My current favorite ones in the Iowa are Taylor Construction Group in Fort Dodge (unfinished wooden houses) or, for example, Nielsen Roads Co. in Des Moines (dug-up road).

Happy trucking to everyone!
The Iowa DLC is a relaxing, authentic addition to ATS that captures the spirit of the American Midwest. If you enjoy open skies, farming roads, and the quiet beauty of the heartland, Iowa makes a great next stop on your virtual trucking journey.

Cruising Greece!

Rating: ★★★★☆ (4/5)
Nr. of Cities: 15

The Greece DLC takes Euro Truck Simulator 2 further south, introducing players to one of the most iconic and historically rich regions in Europe. As a fan of Mediterranean landscapes and coastal driving, I was excited to dive into this map — and it certainly delivers a unique experience!

1. Stunning Mediterranean Landscapes
Greece offers a breathtaking blend of coastal roads, rugged mountains, and sun-soaked countryside. Whether you're hauling cargo along the Aegean coast or winding through olive groves in the Peloponnese, the scenery is warm, vibrant, and full of character. The lighting and skybox work beautifully with the Mediterranean setting.

2. Authentic Greek Atmosphere
From traditional road signs to realistic Greek architecture, the cultural atmosphere is spot-on. You'll see Orthodox churches, small tavernas, and typical Greek-style towns that feel like living postcards. The detail put into creating this vibe is one of the DLC's strongest points.

3. Urban Highlights
Cities like Athens, Thessaloniki, and Patras are highlights of the DLC, each offering its own style of road network, urban density, and local landmarks. Athens especially feels alive with tight city streets and urban traffic. While not as dense as Western European cities, they offer a nice contrast and add to the immersion.

4. Diverse and Challenging Roads
Expect steep mountain climbs, sharp coastal turns, and narrow village roads that will test your trucking skills. Some routes may feel tight for large cargo, adding an extra layer of realism and challenge. The road variety is very well done.

5. New Industry Sites
The Greece DLC includes new delivery sites like marble quarries, olive oil facilities, and ferry terminals. These new depots reflect the local economy and offer new types of cargo and job contracts. It’s a nice addition that keeps deliveries interesting.

6. A Few Shortcomings
While the quality is high, the DLC feels a bit small in terms of total drivable area. Also, some regions (like the Greek islands) are notably absent, and it would have been great to include more ferry-based travel. Hopefully, we’ll see an expansion in the future.

Happy trucking to everyone!
The Greece is a beautiful, atmospheric addition to ETS2 that captures the spirit of the country. If you enjoy sunlit highways, historical flavor, and a mix of urban and natural driving, Greece is a worthy destination on your trucking map.
