This game is simply fantastic and very polished for early access. This is the first game I have played that truly captured what it is like to be vampire. Working from the shadows, slowly gathering your power and expanding your domain in order to crush all those who appose you. The game play loop of gathering resources, gearing up, taking on a boss/area, then repeating is highly addictive and leaves you wondering what you will face next. Combat is robust, with a wide range of powers, weapons, and ultimate abilities that will give you a lot of room for customization. The ability to build, expand, and decorate you castle is also well done, giving you many options to build your dream undead abode.

There are a few problems though, progression being one of them. For the first few hours progression feels natural and comes at a steady pace. In the mid to late game however, there are a few spots where you will hit a wall unless you have researched the recipes for certain gear items. When you hit this wall, it then becomes a frustrating grind to find enough paper/scrolls/schematics to research something or to find the book you are looking for to use at your research station. Most of the time when I was able to progress it was because of a lucky book drop or research table discovery. There are also a handful of frustrating bugs such as your horse getting caught on terrain or bosses freezing in the middle of the fight that take you out of the experience.

Overall though, I can't recommend this game enough. For just $20 you are getting an game that is very well made and will (hopefully) continue to grow as time goes on. I have full faith that the developers at Stunlock will continue to impress with this game, and I am excited to see how my domain will grow in future updates.
