How do I even start, Divinity 2 gets about all you could imagine right, minus perhaps a few caveats.

The developers still try to keep the game fresh introducing the most popular or liked mods to the game UI, which although not an update in it's self, still shows they care about a project that is now more than 2 years old! And there were actual updates throughout the first year (including DE).

The gameplay is stellar, I've seen friends that weren't sure about playing the game over not enjoying turn-based combat absolutely love how it feels once they start.
The design on areas, enemies, skills, etc... Is varied and there are some very unusual battles.
You have lots of freedom when it comes to designing your own class.
The story is gripping and i didn't feel like it was a chore interacting with every NPC i could, even on a second playthrough because of how your race and other decisions influence the events in the game. One of my problems was that the endings could've been done better, although certainly not bad by any means, i feel they weren't good enough for the standard the game set along the way. Not all your decisions will be super influential, it is still linear, but you can have drastic changes to plot points and other events.
The music. That's all, go experience it, go listen to the outside tracks by Borislav Slavov even after you're done with the game.

A masterpiece of gaming.
