Grow Home is a visually compelling, unique, and fun exploration game. As someone who enjoys casual open adventures, this game has become one of my all-time favorites. The goal is simple: build your path to the top while exploring various lands along the way. Each "level" of exploration has new and exciting things to offer. As you progress, you unlock new tools to make your exploration easier and more fun. The simple, yet unique and charming art, keeps you engaged as you go.

My only complaint would be the fidgety controls. They aren't the best, but they are manageable.

This game isn't action-filled. It's a casual, relaxing exploration game, with great visuals and sound effects. If an open-world casual exploration game is something you're interested in, then I definitely recommend this.

Coming as a casual Civilization V player, I was pleased with Beyond Earth. Beyond Earth plays pretty similarly to previous Civilization iterations, with some notable changes (the affinity system in particular). In general, though, many of the gameplay elements are paralleled betweet the two titles.

Regarding the UI and visuals, the interface is intuitive and nice to look at, and the map itself is well polished.

As for gameplay: As I said, it plays similarly to previous iterations. In some sense, it goes deeper than Civilization V, with the technology web and affinity system. At the same time, however, it can be a bit shallow. There aren't great peoples, religions, or a World Congress.

I think the game has a lot of potential, and may hopefully see the same improvements we saw between vanilla Civilization V and its expansions. As a standalone game, however, I am enjoying it - perhaps it won't please seasoned veterans, but as a casual player, it's good.

Early Access Review
For a game early in development, it really is great so far. The game involves traveling the world and visiting towns, hostile islands, and of course, attacking other pirates. You're rewarded for victories with gold, which you can use to expand your crew, build your ship (my favorite part), buy supplies, and more.

Being in early access, the game is buggy, and I have had saves messed up in the past, but that can be expected. Still worthy putting time into for me, and I can definitely see the game getting better.

Relaxing yet challenging game. Awesome music built in, and the ability to upload your own tracks is great.
