I never really got super into this game like a lot of other people, but it was an amazing experience nonetheless. I'll miss hopping on before every Christmas to try and give people loot boxes. I wish the devs the best. Wherever they decide to move onto I know they'll flourish.

To preface I only bought this game to play the campaigns. This review does not factor in how the multiplayer is as well.

This game absolutely sucks. I played a lot of this game as a kid and I may be blinded by nostalgia, but it was infinitely better when on a disk. Firstly, the pathfinding is still god-awful. In some of the areas the ai just refuses to go in an area, despite it being a totally valid spot for them to go. I've lost armies in missions and had to restart because I tell them to go somewhere and they, simply, don't. Secondly, the AI on hard (which is all i've played on) is just pathetic. It's a 50/50 with what you'll get whenever you load into a campaign game. You might get an AI that actually pressures you, albeit with their starting troops, or you'll get an AI that ♥♥♥♥♥ the bed, doesn't build any troops, and sits in its base until you complete whatever horrible objective is designed for this mission. Oh wow can't wait to have to build up 6 arty pieces and go destroy a fort again. Can't wait to have to do that for every single mission. It's just boring and recycled gameplay. And come on, in game cutscenes STILL? It is literally 2022. The view actual cutscenes in this game look amazing but they're tainted by the in-game cutscenes' mere existence. They're just ugly and the studio is obviously capable of making real cutscenes, but they just don't want to.

Edit: Also unit and building caps? Are you joking? What is even the point? What a lazy and ♥♥♥♥ way to balance your game.

Absolutely superb final fight and a great epilogue too.
