Pros:

- Tight controls
- Great soundtrack
- Beautiful/fluid animations
- Creative enemy design
- Simple level design
- Boss rush gameplay

Cons:
- Some bosses were too easy to beat
- Levels were shorter than I'd liked
- Demo and full game were similar in parts, yet different a many.

I loved the game for what it was. The story was very adorable and simple. I was a bit disappointed, given the demo I played was a metroidvania with creative backtracking, purchasable upgrades and boss battles scattered throughout. In this game, you simply play and reply levels to gain enough candy to upgrade your weapon and get enough buttons after completing the level in order to progress to the next one. The most difficult boss battle was the last, hands down.

I beat the game in 33 minutes. If you enjoy a relaxing, silly platform game with some replayability, pick this game up.

I'll keep this short because there's SO much I can say that's amazing about this game:

- Amazing, nostalgic soundtrack that I would blast even if I wasn't playing the game

- Clean UI and graphics that really pop off the screen

- Very simple gameplay mechanics that can get complex after mastering shot angles. This game feels like an upgrade of Pong, especially in co-op mode

- Epic boss battle fights with tongue in cheek humor that is corny enough to have a good chuckle at.

- Amazing intro! I can't say this enough. I must have watched it back three or four times before actually playing the game. It has everything: introducing the two characters, showing them transform into their super hero personas with all the flash of a Saturday morning cartoon (sort of reminded me of an episode of Danny Phantom), epic background music that felt every bit of adventurous.

- I'm just 30 minutes in, on the third boss and I can't wait to see what else this game has to offer.

- Speaking of bosses: The boss intros are amazing. Each are given their own freeze graphic, name and funny description.

- Play this game solo or with a friend via couch co-op. If you are a fan of side scroller, boss heavy, casual to skill based games with a retro feel, this game is definitely for you!

This game is very polarizing, to say the least. Here's my experience with it:

- The first 15 puzzles serve as a minor tutorial. They serve as the building blocks for what you'll need to be familiar with in order to solve (or try to solve) each puzzle. You'll learn how to use each of the four abilities (stasis, speed ball, mini ball and crush ball)

- Yes, it becomes very challenging and at some points rage quit worthy.

- While some puzzles require precision and skill, others do seem to require more luck than skill.

- At times I felt very confident in completing each challenge as the first handful of puzzles followed a basic pattern (introduce special skill, basic puzzle to use the skill then increase difficulty, repeat)

- Yet after you've learned every combination of the abilities, things go from tough to pretty insane

- I stuck with it long enough to reach level 30 before taking another break. I enjoy very challenging games and this game definitely scratched that itch.

- If you have patience and enjoy persevering through highly challenging, borderline impossible games, this game is for you. I picked it up for $1 so I decided to give it a whirl.

- The music, although calming and enjoyable at times can get on your nerves when failing to solve a puzzle over and over again. It reminds me of Getting Over It.

- Also, the graphics and design are very beautiful, smooth and nice to look at. Just remember that whenever you're about to snap your controller or keyboard in half.

- It is fairly short once you've mastered each level (I imagine. I'm not there yet....YET!)

- I recommend it for hardcore and gamers that enjoy games like Dark Souls where overcoming difficulty creates for a very satisfying celebration.

I played/streamed the demo of this game. Later, upon release, I purchased the full version, given how much fun I had in the demo. Here are my thoughts:

Pros:
- Fun gameplay. Reminds old school (seasoned) gamers of the arcade days of yesteryear.
- Awesome top down graphics. Colorful sprites and satisfying explosions after pulling off special attacks, melee moves and General tank shooting
- Challenging difficultly. Once again, for those that enjoyed the tough games of the retro age, this is a game you’ll enjoy.
- Soundtrack. The soundtrack fits each level and boss battle in the game. From upbeat and encouraging to brooding and cautious.
- Upgrade systems. Upgrade all kinds of weapons, the damage %, capacity, customize load outs per vehicle used (up to three different variations) and continue to improve yourself as the levels become more and more challenging.
- Tutorial. I’m putting this here because some game tutorials tend to lack some vital info, having you smash different buttons in order to reach that “so that’s how you do it!” moment. The tutorial in the game is simple, straightforward and easy to grasp.
- Aiming. Whether you’re looking to take out an alien bug, a turret atop an enemy base or enemies over a wall, there’s never an issue hitting your mark.

Cons:
-The difficulty. Although I enjoyed the in your face challenge (aka the Cuphead difficulty), some may find themselves repeating levels minutes after they load in. There are options to take the Easy route over the Hard one.

This game is definitely worth a purchase, especially if you’re nostalgic of games like Galaga or a fan of shooters and boss battles.
