Perhaps the perfect casual online game. At least for me. And when I say that, I don't mean that the game is at all perfect--it most certainly is not. All I mean is that the game is incredibly entertaining to casually play. A daily log on for an hour or so lets you complete some events, experiment with your build, do some challenges, and explore Appalachia (which is a pretty stellar example of map design) a bit more. It kills time in a very Bethesda way and genuinely has some pretty great moments and gameplay loops.

Recommended!
This is not the Citizen Kane or Jeanne Deilman of games, but it doesn't need to be in order to be fun. Yes, Fallout 1st is annoying and it has a number of features that should be in the base game locked behind it (not a subscriber, btw). But honestly, if Fallout 1st, which actually has some pretty good, fair benefits, is your most despicable example of corporate greed--you should probably get out more.

(Also, I didn't get this for free. I pre-ordered this back in the Bethesda.net launcher days.)

More than a worthy sequel to it's predecessor! It keeps the good, scraps the bad, and overall improves almost everything - from quality of life to combat. I've seen it said that Sons of The Forest lacks the replayability of the first one, but having beaten both in the past five days, I can say that I look forward to beating this one again more than the first. It has way more variety in gameplay, vastly superior spelunking, and an incredibly designed map. The ending drops the ball pretty badly, but that barely detracts from this masterpiece of survival horror.

Highly recommended! DON'T KILL KELVIN!!!!! He's the goat!

It’s good!
It's not groundbreaking and certainly not well optimized as of now, but good nonetheless. I think Bethesda finally hit the sweet-spot on blending traditional shooters with action RPGS; don’t get me wrong, I loved Fallout 4, but it was basically just a shooter with environmental storytelling. This actually has RPG elements besides just naming your character, and it feels much more story based than gunplay based as opposed to FO4.

RDR2 has: some of the best gameplay of any game, the best self-contained story, one of the best maps, some of the best characters, the best immersion, and much much more. Basically, if there's a feature available in gaming, RDR2 probably has the best implementation of it.
