I want to like this game, I really do. My friend gifted it to me so that I could play it with him and his other friends, and the gameplay at its core is certainly a blast at times. I have some gripes, like the way aiming works being infuriating. Your mouse sensitivity and muscle memory for hitting shots is meaningless because guns turn at a fixed rate and if you move your mouse faster than that, you have to wait for the gun to "catch up" which can often mean overcorrecting as you're following the reticle, and then correcting back, and swinging from side to side.

A bit of a skill issue, and I've gotten more used to it after some time, but it is still frustrating. This leads to my real issues with the game, though. One of the armors mostly fixes this, the Predator set from Viper Commando, but I hate the look of it and it doesn't fit with any other helmets. Can't change the appearance of your armor, though... so I have to stick looking this exact way forever because it's the only armor that has this perk.

That is, until maybe another version of the same armor comes into the premium superstore and I can spend real money on it! Except the store's items change once a week. But hey, they're cosmetic only like they promised, so that's fine, right? Well, no. As the last update has proven, unique limited time guns are now available for purchase in the superstore. The funny thing, is the gun kind of sucks, but you wouldn't know that because the stats are vague and the game doesn't let you try them before you buy them

This also extends to the "warbond" aka battlepass system. Buy a battlepass with real money, grind for 8-10 hours to get enough medals to get the gun you want (unless that gun is on page 3, then it's more like 30-40 hours at least), and then find out the gun is weird as hell and nothing like you expected, so all that time is wasted. No way to refund items for medals back, no way to try items before you buy them, gotta browse outdated reddit posts because patches change how these weapons work all the time.

The game at its core is fun, and I'm honestly still playing it, but between the most mind-numbing progression system I've ever experienced in a game I otherwise actually like playing, and the devs taking advantage of what little good will they have left to start ramping up the monetization to downright scummy, mobile game levels (who saw that one coming?) I can't recommend this game. Maybe after a second wave of mass downvoting, they'll change this... but how many times do we as a community have to go through this? Are we going to get shafted once every few months, until the entire community is forced to write reviews like this until they hopefully "fix" things only to screw it all up after another few months again? I fear this review will stay negative forever. Fun game, terrible systems that surround it.

A lot of people are leaving mixed reviews, which I can understand, but personally I absolutely loved this heist. Playing a speedy dodge build on DSOD requires the usual careful strategy and planning that DSOD requires, but it felt really fun on this map. There are tons of corridors to zip around between for cover, but no real points you can stand totally still and just mow everything down except for one of the objectives.

Hearing Ilijah snipe down people outside as you navigate the underground is a ton of fun, and the moment when I finally got outside to a long narrow hallway I see the entire Winters unit standing there and 3 snipers in the windows behind them.

However, it was right where the ammo bag was placed in Preplanning, and it all came together. Fully reloaded my trusty five-seven, shredded through the entire winters unit with a couple of grenades and armor piercing crits, pinged down the last few snipers, and held the line long enough to make the mad dash with my buddies to the escape van. Snipers took everyone down but me, but their sacrifice gave us the victory.

9/10 heist, would play again. Much more fun Loud than Stealth though.

Played it for 200 hours, still have yet to complete a single playthrough because I keep starting over with new mods and new people. Fantastic game

Crashes on startup for more than 50% of people. 4A didn't test their game, and if you don't have a specific CPU it literally doesn't work.
