The Pyro Update and its consequences have been a disaster for the TF2 playerbase. They have greatly increased the life expectancy of those of us who play "advanced" classes, but they have destabilized the balance of the game, have made playing Spy unfulfilling, have led to widespread psychological suffering (in lower divisions to physical suffering as well) and have inflicted severe damage to the natural state of game. The continued development of such updates will worsen the situation. It will certainly subject spy mains to greater indignities and inflict greater damage on the fundamentals of design, it will probably lead to greater division disruption and psychological suffering, and it may lead to increased suffering even in "advanced" divisions.
