Have roughly 300 hours on this game if you take into account my overwatch 1 playtime.
Man I miss 6v6 so much, off tanks are unplayable nowdays. I still enjoy the game enough to regularly play it but man I can't say that I find this game to have any noticeable improvements or atleast none that offset everything I felt got worse with this game.

I have been playing Skullgirls on my switch for the last 2 years or so, maybe three, I don't quite remember anymore. I also used to play the mobile game around the time ♥♥♥♥♥ got added before my phone ran out of storage and I was forced to uninstall it. I have bought the game for several friends on steam over the years and have found myself drawing fanart of the various characters throughout my entire artistic development.

So obviously this game means A LOT to me, it has occupied the evenings of me and my friends hanging out in my room, playing skullgirls on my ♥♥♥♥♥♥ TV that had like 2 big lines burnt in the middle of it. It's a game that I find to be practically synonymous with the few hangouts we got to have during the pandemic so thus I have a great love for it. It even served as my introduction to 2D traditional fighters since all I really had prior was Smash Bros Ultimate, said fighting games being all that I really play nowdays.

I have also been invested in it's story for a very long time and I remember being really sad that for a while that it seemingly just ended with Eliza's alternate universe where she basically ♥♥♥♥♥ over everybody, then it ends on a sort of cliff hanger. So seeing the game out of nowhere make a come back and introduce all these DLC of characters I've wanted in the game for years now has been absolutely lovely even if I have been struggling to make the time to test them out.
Seeing this game get review bombed simply because it's cleaning up on it's more dated aspects that were rather predatory or tone deaf has been rather disheartening. Its genuinely shocking that something like putting less focus on the underwear of a 16 year old or not taking the piss out of a still active hate group, along with like 5 weird, completely inconsequential guest drawings have managed to create such a misdirected uproar over a supposed "CENSORSHIP"
Realizing a part of your game didn't age well and addressing it should be something embraced, not demonized. The changes had no affect on the gameplay and close to no affect on the story (albeit I feel like editing big bands story to be less direct wasn't quite the right play) and pretending the game is ruined seems absolutely insane to me.
The game is still a visually stunning, fast paced, exhilarating 2D fighter with absolutely gorgeous visuals, phenomenal character design, witty humour, super really engaging lore and really fun character driven stories. It plays exactly the same as it did prior to this update unless you are that one parasoul main that is still upset because he supposedly used the red arm band to measure his spacing but aside from that you should be fine.

Please do give this game a chance, giving into this idea that not wanting to sexualize minors = censorship is really bizarre and I genuinely believe that you should experience the game yourself and see if you think the experience has significantly worsened without the inclusion of said scenes and frames.

Great game which is very much worth getting all the DLC, its art style is incredible to look at, its surprisingly complex mechanics are fascinating to toy with, the characters are very likeable. I just don't have anything foul to say about this,

Fun alternative for Overwatch or Team Fortress 2, cool fantasy aesthetic, I enjoy the community's jokes about the amount of bugs. Its just a goofy fantasy shooter with a cool deck and item system.
Would like it more if I didn't have to see a furry tell me that I have "bowed down to their queen" every time I die.

Ever since they started actually banning all the bots and their hosters, the game has been super fun, almost reminding me of the times I would hop on a game just to have fun with friends and ♥♥♥♥ around in a pub. Good times :)
I will keep the negative review for another month just in case Valve decides to suddenly stop doing anything about the bots again. If enough time passes, I would be more than glad to update my review to a positive one!
