If you like the idea of taking on a verity of creatures either alone or with friends, this game is for you.

If played with Friends, it will either deepen your bond with them or make you think about looking for new friends. And no, I am not angry about getting captured by a Hook Rat and being left for dead.

The only reason you'll be playing this game is to stock up on some cosmetics for when Phantasy Star New Genesis is released.

If you do plan to buy this game, wait for a Sale. It is not worth the full price. Also if you buy the Deluxe version, it comes with all 99 DLC.

I beat the main story on normal in about 2 and a half to 3 hours. The main replay value comes from beating story mode over again on a higher difficulty but with the characters leveling, higher difficulty ends up being even easier then normal. After beating the game, if you only have the base version of the game the only other mode you can do is Survival. There are other bonus mission you can do if you buy the DLC or own the Deluxe Edition. Each one is just a single mission that adds a bit more background story for the characters. I feel like these bonus missions should have been apart of the base game and not sold off as single DLC per mission.

The game has one main unlockable which is a 3rd playable character.(Assuming you either didn't buy the Deluxe edition or the Lei Instant Unlock DLC) The other unlockable are Rings to buy in the shop or a small handful of concept arts. How the unlockable quest works are very uninspired.
Example: Perfect Dodge x amount of time to unlock a ring. Kill X amount of enemies in your berserk mode to unlock an art work.

There are no cosmetic that you can unlock ingame at all. No hidden items. You have no reason to explore the map, there is nothing to do but run forward and try to clear the level as fast as you can.

The hack and slash gameplay is fine. Even tho you are fighting zombies, the fight has a very fast pace to them. Perfect Dodging and counters are on a very tight timer and is very rewarding when you pull them off.

I do not recommend this game. The price is way too much for the amount of content it offers and almost everything that feels like it should have been ingame as an unlockable is a DLC. The Deluxe Edition of the game helps soften the blow but at this point, why even have two version?

To anyone that had the (mis)fortune to play/try out PlayStation Home and enjoyed it, Tower Unite is the game to fill that small hidden shame of a void that was left gaping open when PS Home shut down.

If you are still unsure, just give Tower Unite a try. Like PS Home, you might like it more then you're willing to admit.
