A very good side story for Cyberpunk 2077, and the patches that came along with it did a lot to fix the mechanics. The world characterization is still not perfect, but this DLC adds a much stronger punk aesthetic in terms of punching back against a world and forces that are much, much bigger than you and against whom your victories are temporary and hard-won. The new gigs and side jobs are interesting and usual a bit more layered than the main game's offerings. Dogtown is weird - every moment you spend in there it feels like a giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but somehow all the characters seem to pretend it's some kind of weird bastion amid Night City where it's just more of the shame. All the same, strong recommendations if you want more Cyberpunk.

On the other hand, the game did add a whole raft of new bugs. You'll get locked out of new and old content from time to time, and require reloading saves and trying to do things a slightly different way to avoid progress-halting bugs. I've had to save, quit, and reload at least a dozen times to fix control lockouts or broken features that simply become temporary unavailable. Save early and often and keep multiple - you never know when you'll lose access to your journal, phone, map, the ability to run, etc.

The setpieces in this game - the gunfights, the confrontations, and the big physics/graphics showcases play awesomely and look fantastic. I wish I had the option to replay specific sections because damn some of those feelings of accomplishment are fantastic.

If you simply must have more game right now, buy away. On the other hand, if you can wait, give it a few more patches for bug fixing and maybe a price drop.

I heard about this game from the designer on the SA Forums and resolved to pick it up when I got a chance. I bought it either Friday night or Saturday morning and the reason I'm not sure about when is I've basically played it non-stop since then and it is absolutely incredible.

The sea combat is simple and fun - with complexity there if you want it - and the steady stream of ship parts makes it feel like your ship is getting stronger all the time, which is great! Each time you upgrade hulls, you can tell the jump in power; each new generation of gun gives you a bigger feeling of throwing your cannon weight around.

The writing is very funny and usually quite clever! It seems like a game that should have a pretty simple plot and negligible writing, but the characters are fun and distinct and the whole plot gives you a sense of investment in the outcome that many way higher-budget games struggle to maintain. I can't possibly recommend this game enough, and the price is well worth the investment.

If you don't like coding, if you don't even want to entertain the idea of maybe enjoying coding, this game will hold no appeal for you whatsoever. Yeah, you can copy other people's scripts, but at that point it's a somehow even more pointless idle game.

On the other hand, if you have even a slight interest in coding, and are patient and willing to learn, this game is incredibly engaging, and the drive to optimize, to improve, and to figure out a little edge to make that next script run a little faster or a little leaner or just a bit more clean will give you that "Oh ♥♥♥♥ it's three in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ morning" feeling that so few games can achieve.

A terrific homage to and expansion of the X-Com of old. This treatment is a fantastic take on an ageless classic.
