Great foundation, looking forward to further development! Definitely needs more baking in order to be as immersive as Rimworld and have as much replay-ability. But it seems like development is progressing fast and the dev is in it for the long haul.

Fun game for a great price

As of right now, does not hold a candle up to the experience that Squad OG provides. Graphics are not great, full servers still feel empty due to the changes in revive and death mechanics, sound design isn't great. The game does not showcase intense, tactical, chaotic firefights like in regular Squad; there are only people randomly running around and trying to get lucky clicking on you first with the bolt action. Not much room for strategy to breathe. The US faction automatically has a huge advantage with the M1 Garand, so there isn't a relatively-even combat sim like Squad. Having only 80 players a server really shows too, especially with the maps being as large as Squad---if anything the playercount needs to be larger than 100 to get WW2 right (especially when you have weapons with less firepower, the battles feel stale on the scale of the current maps). It certainly is the inferior game to Squad, not a reskin of Squad.

That being said I hope OWI is able to breathe some life into the game as I would love to see a Squad experience set in WW2. I would then love to revisit the game once it captures the immersion in the same way that Squad original did. I have faith in OWI to do it, but for now I'll stick to other games and keep my eye on it.

My third favorite game next to Squad and Rimworld; BUT you must play it with the Vox Populi community mod at least, otherwise the AI is crappy and takes away from the experience. Get it with all the DLC on sale, watch the Brave New World opening video, and experience 4X at its pinnacle.
