I played the hell out of this game when it first came out. I finished the game with all 6 classes multiple times - both solo and with friends. Then later on I played the korean mmo version. And now I got so hyped about this one that I counted the hours until release. Do not buy this game. Reasons:
- Incredibly buggy (ex. if you lower the mouse sensetivity below 50% mouse movement stops behaving properly)
- It's the korean version of the game -> I personally prefer the original one which had a soul and character. All the NPCs in this one are just blank slates that serve the purpose to satisfy the needs of MMO players... in this single player only version of the game.
- Oh, did I mention -> SINGLE PLAYER ONLY! In a game that is made and sold out as a MULTIPLAYER EXPERIENCE! We used to raid the ♥♥♥♥ out of huge demons with actual strategy, tactics & so on back in the days! Yet the chat window is still in this version. Oh, and when you right click an item for more options, the very first top one is the one to link it's item description in the chat for others to see. But it's a Single Player only version here - don't let all the multiplayer features in it fool you!
- Unfinished & buggy touches -> for example a melee character can move and attack at the same time. Unless you're right in front of an enemy and you only press forward + attack. Then you just stay in place unable to reach & hit your opponent. As a result you always have to swing your camera & attack either diagonally or to the side instead of just going f'in forward!
- At the very least I have to add that they didn't implement any ingame real money shops. That would have instantly killed this already crippled gasping for air version of this glorious title!

TL;DR - Buggy, Korean lesser version of the game, Buggy, Buggy, Multiplayer Game with Single Player Only!

I'll keep my eye on this game to see if the devs are going to keep working on it to bring it to a more playable state or to see if this is just a quick cash & grab. It doesn't look good especially considering that the description of the game is literally lying about the game's contents like the Tokyo content being in the game - blatant lie. In any case - the London 2038 fan-made version of the game is way better at it's current state. And guess what - it has Multiplayer. Yeah. In 2018 -> it's just mindboggling. Why would I even consider buying this since I already have the original DVD?

What makes me really sad is all the ppl defending this release and only encouraging such behaviour from the devs telling them that lying & releasing half of an already existing game in a state worse than it used to be in it's original release is a good way to do their business.

The game transformed from an overexpensive turd into an unpolished F2P gem. Developers are hyper active, updates are flowing non-stop, new content, balancing - you've got it all - for FREE!

This is one of the best games & I would have easily payed quadriple it's price if I knew in advance how awesome it truly is!

I kinda knew about this game while it was still in development but because of too many things going on with my life I forgot about it with time. Last night I accidently noticed Son of Nor on the steam home page & I almost broke my mouse while mashing the "Buy Now" button! I went through it already & I'm going to play it all over against at least one more time on my own and a few more times with different friend groups and last but definitely not least - I'll have genuinely fun experience while going through the Co-op with my girlfriend. There are so many great things about this game. First - it's developer team is one of the best ones I've seen (and I've seen a lot), so don't take this statement lightly. Rarely you'll see such activity from such a small team (when even huge ones are doing so bad), so many promises delivered & so many more to be! Second - the game is greatly innovative. I dove into the game without prior knowledge of it's gameplay, story or anything. I made sure that I know literally nothing of Son of Nor when I clicked "New Game". The mechanics are great even if a little clunky at times. The spell system is great - both in how you unlock everything & how you can use it in later playthoughs & in the multiplayer, and how the spells work. Story is great & I actually found myself digging for bonus lore, searching for collectables just so I can find more stuff & when the Bible of Nor was bestowed upon me - I was more than happy to eat it with it's covers! ^_^ About the spell variety - I can't stress out how hard for a game with completely new spell system is to make all aspects of it worth while! I found myself using absolutely everything non-stop in this game while in most others I just find what is "best" & "most efficient" & I just go with it from beginning 'till the end. Here it's not like that & credit Must be given where credit is Due! Good Job Stillalive Studios! About the pacing of the game - it's not perfect but it's really good & I saw on the forums that the developers actually changed the first 2 levels after receiving players feedback. This happens like once every millennium in the gaming industry. Again cudos to the dev team! The more I see the more I'm expecting from them but that's the thing, ain't it? We as gamers & consumers hardly expect anything of much value. We're used to be treated like consumers & we're used for big companies to milk their old cows even tho those cows are drier than the deserts in Noshrac! Also this game rewards explorers. I also found myself constantly going everywhere (except for when I really got hyped on the main story line & I just wanted to know What Happens Next!). Single Player is a Great Experience which I hope that anyone who reads this review has either experienced or will exp it! I also had the luck to try out the multiplayer with one of the developers. Even tho he lagged a bit - I had immense fun. And I must add - I'm a hardcore competitive gamer to the bone! And I played PvP without a single care of who's going to win. It was just so fun! But tbh I can't wait to find at least one person to get together with so we can practice some advanced techniques & fully optimize the potential of this great game!

From the gamer who's played it all - Buy Son of Nor!

I can write endless amounts of text glorifying this piece of extraordinary artwork and yet I'll feel like I haven't said enough... enough at all! There are certain things born in the world of media which don't just fall under the boundaries of a certain genre. Many of us have this one movie, this one book or song - this one single solitary special thing in life which makes the very fabric of our own universe to twitch with excitement & joy. And for me - this thing in my entire life is The Longest Journey Saga. I know that most people just go through the game reviews to decide if a game is either good or suited for them, but here I am & I reach out to All of You - This game is a story like any other You've ever heard & told in a new & incredible way!

I'm one of the Dreamfall Chapters Kickstarter Backers. I am a serious competitive gamer. I remember how I used to craw & try to walk in order to reach the computer while I still weared diapers & I was too small to climb up on the chair only by myself. I've played many many games in my life, I've conquered several gaming world records during those years & I hope that I'll be able to conquer even more. I've played every single genre & numerous games - from some of the worst to surely the best. And not just on the PC. But The Longest Journey Saga became from my very first playthrough many many years ago probably the most important game in my life, because it's not just a game. The developers didn't just created it in order to make the next gen game or to cash in some quick bucks - no. The people who made this are hard working, dedicated & give themselves fully in what they're doing. They worked their asses off to create the absolute masterpiece when it comes to a way to tell a story. And their work influences the minds of people all around the globe. I've shown the previous two games to many, many people through out the past couple of years - half my life actually - and I was amazed to find out that every single one of them got touched by those games and his life changed for the better in some aspect. And all the people who come in contact with anyone who has played the Saga will be affected by those changes. And no - I don't know any on the developer team neither am I a fan boy - I simply appreciate their work for what it is & say a heartly "Thank You!" for turning our dreams into a reality by making this huge leap of faith & creating Dreamfall Chapters! At the time I write this - Dreamfall Chapters has the perfect 100% positive review rating. It's the first time I see this & yet I find this to be perfectly normal. I only hope that one day I'll create something which can affect people like The Longest Journey Saga is.

So in the end I guess that I still wrote a whole bunch of things. For finishing words I just want to link to all of You the post I wrote a while ago while I was still waiting for this gem to come out (I'm not sure if it will require You to register to the forums in order to read it but it will be worth it - I promise):

http://redthreadgames.com/forum/topic/215-a-dreamer-living-the-dream/

The Longest Journey Saga literally changes our whole world - the real one - for the better. And I perfectly realize that I sound way overdramatic to some people but the simple fact is - if those games made me say all those things I wish to say a thousand more - can You follow my path by playing through all of them & not agree with me on the end?

They say that every story has a beginning & an end. And I'm literally shaking with enthusiasm to delve deeper into the story of Dreamfall Chapters!
