My very first Elder Scrolls game happened to be Oblivion and I loved that game. Not in the kind of "Oh my God, this is the best game evar! kldfosdajdgvdf!!!Dfgdf" sort of way, but more of a "Hm, wow, this game's good. Okay, onto the next game." It was great and I invested probably 100 hours going through Cyrodiil, but it didn't immerse completely into its world and characters and make me wanna play and play and play till the dawning sun cast its blinding rays through my window.

In truth, the Elder Scrolls series went completely off my radar after I was done with Oblivion. I didn't even bother with The Shivering Isles expansion, which I regret now. It was probably in the middle of December 2011 when I saw Skyrim for the first time. Specifically, it's the first time I've seen Skyrim's box art, because while I was aware of Skyrim's existence dating back to maybe April of that same year, I didn't watch any of the trailers and whatnot until AFTER I got the game. I mean, I've enjoyed Oblivion and it looked really good, so I decided to get it.

And that's where Skyrim sucked me in. The visuals, the music, the gameplay, the overall aesthetic of a Norse-inspired country, I was hooked and I never looked back.

If you're looking at my play time, please add another 150 hrs. That's the amount of time I invested on this game before I bought the Legendary Edition on Steam. The achievements enticed me.

And despite putting up that many hours into this game—across 3 playthroughs of being a female Nord, then a female Imperial, then a female Nord again who this time had red hair—I don't think I've dug up everything it has to offer yet. So many more quests lie in wait for me to get them, yet there's still about a hundred quests in my backlog to go through. The side quests in this game can be overwhelming, but what's great is that the game won't pressure you to do this or do that. If you wish to ignore the quest or do it at a later time, then by all means, you're free to do so. There's no time limit for any of them.

Now do I recommend this game? Yes. But it's nearing 5 years old, will the graphics and gameplay hold out? Abso-effing-lutely. Plus, with the plentiful amount of mods on offer in the Nexus website, you can beef up the graphics that can maybe—JUST MAYBE—put the Special Edition to shame, and even change the gameplay to be more challenging and/or immersive (I like me some Survivor-type mod, Frostfall, and Campfire, myself).

Skyrim is, I can say without doubt, one of THE best games I have ever played in my life and will always—ALWAYS—hold a special place in my heart.

10/10 will CTD due to too many mods again. Tee-hee. ;P

Played for the game. Stayed for the game.

I'm serious.

10/10 would play with women's hearts again.

Joke Steam review aside, welcome to a more flexible game of Bejeweled. While Bejeweled has games where moves eventually run out (in this case, no more moves will destroy some jewels), this one doesn't because the player is free to pick an icon and drag it anywhere in its respective column AND row. The catch, however, is that you get a limited amount of moves (mostly it's 20) to reach a certain score, and that score goes higher for every game played, rising up the challenge gradually.

To circumvent that level rise, the game will provide power items that does varying effects on the board, but they cannot be used without first accumulating Passion points by eliminating the pink hearts, thus sacrificing one or two moves in the process. It requires a bit of strategy, like in chess, predicting how the board plays out before making your move.

Now what am I forgetting here?

...

... oh, right! The girls.

There are girls you can date. The pink fairy in the game will tell you the details. I won't. :P

The great thing about The Witcher 3 is that its developers, CD Projekt Red, knew what they were doing, knew their audience, and knew to give lots of love and passion as they nurtured this GOTY baby into completion.

Most of the Side quests aren't just tacked-on busy work that you only do for XP. Each has a story to tell and oftentimes you're left to deal with a moral dilemma that doesn't quite paint the choices you'll make as black & white. Almost everything here is a shade of gray, and it's more up to the player's own morality to determine whether or not to, say, kill a murderer because it was alleged self-defense or let an accidental sororicide be dealt with very brutal justice. There is no hand-holding in these decisions—you make your own and you deal with it.

Combat has improved since Witcher 1's clunky MMORPG-esque swordplay of 3 interchanging Witcher School combat styles and Witcher 2's quicksave-move-quicksave-move-combat!-defeat-quickload-potions-COMBAT!-victory sort of play. There's even two types of dodges, short and long, which strangely provides more control over combat. I never thought I actually needed another dodge button until this game, too. Button-mashing is detrimental here; mostly you have to play this smart. You need to incorporate dodges, parries, counters, and Signs to survive, especially on harder difficulties, and that's great because it keeps you on the edge of your seat.

The expansion packs, Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine, bring more story and development to Geralt as a witcher and as a man. This is a guy who'd been through decades in The Path, and along the way, his romantic ideas of grandeur got chipped bit by bit (reading the Witcher books will help you delve deeper into his backstory) and we see more of that tired warrior in the first expansion, especially in the final confrontation (should you choose to go that path, anyway). The second expansion is, in my opinion, the best farewell CDPR can give to Geralt. I won't say more on it, lest I go to very spoilery territory.

Just know that, all in all, this is a great game, a great buy, and a game that outright earned its various Game of the Year Awards in 2015.

10/10

I'll be remembering this game fondly in the years to come...

Early-Access-Rezension
It’s been a long time coming, and it’s finally here.

In the caverns beneath Steam, all turn to CRAWL.

I present to you . . . my review of CRAWL.

For time untold I had drifted, bored and alone.

But now I watched as a simple developer once again trod the Early Access halls, developing a game that must be played.

I took possession of debit cards and PayPal sprung at my command, and when my Library increased a number by one, I could rise for a time as a player of a dungeon CRAWLer.

I summon my 360 controller and my gaming headset with a microphone for multiplayer. I wore them for leisure and abuse their usage and flung them at this game. Again and again, the bots cut me down! And I was tickled to see a trace of smugness in their eyes.

Did they think I would just play with bots down here?

Play with 3 Human Players!

The others flanked with analogs, mice, and keyboards, and bled bots of their purpose. They were soon to die, these puppets of artificiality. But when will Powerhoof deliver the killing blow? If they could slay them now, the game would be reborn . . . filled with humans.

Kill your friends and smile about it.

And as time went on, they fell! Purpose poured from their corpses and filled CRAWL to the brim and flashed praise and anticipation of multiplayer and flared my excitement, reborn.

Go to the forums; post your opinions and suggestions

Powerhoof was pleased with the suggestions we have given and rewarded us with content and updates. Taking these, I lobbied with a friend, for fun, excitement . . . and the urge to kill.

Only one gets out alive after all

With new vicious tools, I butchered friend after friend, growing ever delightful, but my friends grew also, and I could seldom hold my Humanity for long. Avatars were shredded underfoot as we fought for our prize: that one fading spark of opportunity.

We seized it!

We lost it!

We took it and we fled!

For Humanity alone held the difference. And stealing that prize, I hurled viscous blades and teeth and flame—

To a room most strange and very boss-like.

The eldritch stones split a ragged hole in the air, a gateway to the Final Boss above.

And winning . . . if you dare take 1 of 3 chances behind.

ahem, ahem

Okay, now that that’s over with. The results are here:

Graphics: Retro, not a bad thing really. It worked well here.

Sound: Retro and somewhat repetitive. Like the olden games betwixt the 80s and 90s.

Gameplay: Chaotic, but fun. Really fun. Future updates will have to require an indicator to keep track of your player’s location on the screen, though; colors alone are insufficient for something this fast-paced.

Replay Value: Oh eff the hell YESSSSSSS!

Verdict: A great buy for playing with friends and ganging up on each other. Also hope to play with strangers in multiplayer.
