Kill, Runes, Die, Recover. Kill, Runes, Die, Recover. Kill, Runes, Die, Recover.

Same old Dark Souls style, but now with an open world to explore.

I don't see the appeal—

You can get an ending with best girl Ranni. 10/10, best game of the series.

I do not know what to do, so I started with the Tutorial, which ensured to make the ghost harmless so as to help newcomers familiarize themselves with the controls and game mechanics without fearing for their lives. Instructions come from a TV screen in the living room, and game already says which room in the house is the haunting area, so it's a bit of a back and forth; ez pz so far. Ghost is in the garage, so I start gathering evidence and always going back to the living room to switch the TV's channel onto the next step.

Come the fourth instruction, as I turned the corner to the living room, a big disheveled guy in dirty clothes and bared teeth and wielding axe was walking towards me. I screamed and then NOPE'd out of the tutorial before ghost can come any closer.

"Harmless," the game's tutorial said. The tutorial is a liar.

10/10 would play to be scared again.

It's step up to what Human Revolution had been, in terms of gameplay and mechanics, but for the storyline... it might just be me looking at the original Deus Ex with rose-tinted goggles as I recall the fun and profound lore buried in it, but I felt more engagement in the worldwide conspiracies it tackled than the human augmentation revolution HR & MD were doing.

Despite that, I still found the game enjoyable to recommend.

I didn't think I'd have fun driving a truck around the European highways, but I did. It'd be perfect if the radio function worked for ALL radio stations across the globe, rather than the measly selection I got. I had no choice but to Alt+Tab and have Google Chrome fix me up with radio stations in a specific country I'm driving around in.

I downloaded this for a fun reading time. What I got instead is an unforgettable, disturbing trip.

I wanted more.

10/10

Miracle of Sound summed this game up nicely with just 4 words:

CLICK CLICK, BOOM BOOM!

A first-person shooter that holds nothing back, not even the contemporary mechanics of what an FPS is. It's a trip back to DOOM's primal roots where you don't care about regenerating health, cover systems, aiming down sights, or, ugh, reloading. It's all going into a room with guns blazing and smoking. To hesitate is to die. To be slow is to be demon chow. This game knows its niche and capitalizes on it with great enthusiasm.

There's some aspects of modern day games, with sf explanations of guns, the Mars facility you're in, and the demons that invaded it. But that's all optional, though. You're free to keep rushing, running and running, because the demons of Hell desperately need a reckoning of lead.

10/10 will rip and tear, rip and tear, rip and tear, again and again.

CLICK CLICK, BOOM BOOM, motherf.v.cker.
