Going to keep this as vague as possible to avoid spoilers for absolutely everything, and just sharing my thoughts right after finishing the game.

P3R definitely feels more like a slow burn when comparing it to P4G, but what really sold it for me was the final arc of the game. Although it didn't have the silly goofy characters I hold so dear to my heart found in the Investigation Team, SEES was appropriately and amazingly written for the themes this game is going for, and has its own identity compared to my pre-established notion of what a Persona game is like.

Without getting into too many details, all I can say is Persona 3 Reload was a truly fantastic and possibly even life changing experience. The sound track is phenomenal and pairs exceptionally well to what is going on in the game, and I even listen to it regularly in my daily life. The characters, main cast, social links, and even random dialogues around town, are written to feel like genuine people, and it synergises with the darker themes shown. The gameplay is what you would expect from other Persona titles with some much needed quality of life improvements, so if you're a masochist like I am, and enjoy spending a ludicrous amount of time grinding, then the JRPG aspect of this game would be right up your alley.

By no means am I saying this game is without its flaws, but what masterpiece doesn't have flaws imposed on to them by the biased public? Kind of a pretentious thing to say in a Steam review of all things, but I wholeheartedly stand behind that. For instance, I absolutely hated every time I got insta-killed, having to regrind numerous sections of the game, but does that take away from the full experience? A little, but I can overlook it. It's negligible flaws like that which can potentially put some people off the game, but all I want to say with this rant is to STICK WITH IT. The payoff is well worth it if you want to experience the amazing story told in Persona 3.

If I had a nickel for every animal fact I've learned through reading this, I'd have 5 nickels. It's not a lot, but insanely weird that it happened 5 times. Soujuurou best boy.

Fixing the washing machine has to be the most painful thing I've done at 2 in the morning

I had originally played a bit of this game using not so legal means, but it was too good not to support the original devs. Can't wait for the sequel!

I'll try to make this review as spoiler free and vague as possible, while still giving insight into my own personal experience with it.

This game is an absolute masterpiece, and easily rivals the spot for my favorite visual novel, next to the other contender Steins Gate. Although I didn't spend as much time playing through this as Steins Gate, having a much shorter play time than I would like, I have to give props to Totono's excellent writing, pacing, and cast, and how well they were fleshed out within the given time.

Notes about this game I adore:
-Amazing and thematically relevant OST
-Flawed, relatable characters any one can love given the context of the story (with the exception of Yuutaro, being the absolute best character in all of fiction, and would have been my main pick if he had his own route)
-Choices that made me extremely conflicted with the two main romance options.
- And Eru

Personal gripes I have with this game:
-This game cannot be fully completed without reinstalling the game
-Pacing can be a bit wonky at times, but I understand that aspect is crucial to the story
-The more mature scenes can get a bit weird, so if you're squeamish to that, I suggest speed reading through it.
-Yuutaro isn't a love interest

To be frank, I don't want to bore anyone reading this anymore than I have, so I'll sum up my thoughts as briefly as I can.

Play this game. Maybe not as your first, but second or third VN if you're new to the genre (Since the game does give commentary about the Visual Novel Genre as a whole). Be sure to install the R-18 patch from JASTUSA. It may be another 4 dollars, but it is worth it to get the full experience. Be sure to go into this game with some mental resilience, as it can be really draining at some points. And I'd finally recommend using the guides to help you along with the story. Just as an important key note: DO NOT SPOIL YOURSELF WITH THE ROUTE WALK THROUGH TITLES. THEY ARE CENSORED FOR A REASON. If it wasn't obvious enough I spoiled myself for a few of the routes, and admittedly did put me off of the game for certain unnamed aspects.

To conclude this review, I would give this game an overall 9.5/10. I love this game. I think its extremely underrated, and should be way more popular than it currently is. Play the game. Do it.

Finally got gold medal for the speedrun, and can finally say that this is a phenominal game. I spent 25 hours learning about the world and truly being immersed in the story and gameplay, and spent another 35 speedrunning. This is a seriously good game, and would be a great start for anyone looking to speedrun

I've literally 100% all the games in the bundle, and by far this was the longest one to complete and the best one by far. It's the only one with a penis in it (not gay)
