This is a good story with a decent horror atmosphere, but it was far from what we were expecting following Penumbra: Overture/Black Plague and Amnesia: The Dark Descent. It felt like gameplay and puzzles took a back seat to narrative. The Chinese Room weave great stories, don't get me wrong, but it just felt like the gameplay was just to get you from A to B so you can listen to more of the story.

In summary, good game, not very good Amnesia game. Should've been marketed as a spin-off. Even though I was rather disappointed, I can't say the game was BAD. Just not as good as what came before it.

There's a fun little game in here deep down, but it absolutely relies on having an active playerbase, which this game does not have because it is £50 with abysmal offline content, unappealing UX, no crossplay, a small character roster, and a very basic combat system.

Byking/Bandai, you want a good bandaid solution? Give the demo online capabilities. Restrict character select to Itadori/Fushiguro/Kugisaki. Allow demo players to queue into unranked and online co-op. Let them actually experience the part of the game that people will be coming back for, whilst also giving people who bought the game people to play against. Demo players will get to see people play cool characters like Sukuna and Gojo and maybe buy the game to play those characters themselves.

Without people to play with this game has ZERO value. The offline AI ranges from pitifully easy to beat to outright cheating, dodging your attacks the frame you input the attack and punishing you. The ONLY enjoyment to be had is playing with others.

I'll change my review once the demo gets online capabilities, or the game drops to like £10.

Just 100% completed this game, so I'm writing a review.

In short, very enjoyable, with some good humour. Lots of little secrets to find. You can pet the dog and call him a good boy.

My only criticisms:

- Voice acting and writing's very hit or miss, at one point it genuinely sounds like the main character is voiced by AI.
- Larger levels have some framerate issues even on minimum settings when you look towards the centre of the map. Perhaps a culling issue.
- When going for a perfect score, it can be extremely frustrating looking for the last bit of trash or objective. The museum level in particular is a nightmare for this.
- No upgrades that help with carrying bodies faster, which would've been very much appreciated.

Co-op currently does not work. Do not recommend.

Initially, I gave this game a positive review. I have since sunk another 150 hours into it and whilst I still stand by most of what I said in my initial review, after an additional year of development I can no longer give Byking the benefit of the doubt.

In my first review, over a year ago, I said the two key downsides to the game are the glitches, and the cheaters. I stopped playing a few months after that review, because the bugs and cheaters became too much, and I left the game at the end of Season 1. Now, Season 8 comes around and I decide to give the game another shot, see if they've addressed the sore spots.
I'm greeted with my favourite character having a bug that severely handicapped him, and even more cheaters than before.

I mentioned in my original review that the monetisation did not feel predatory, even if I didn't like it. Unfortunately that is no longer the case; the developers added a system that allows you to grant your character buffs ranging from small health upgrades to things like a whopping 50% damage reduction if you melee an enemy. The system requires you to spend various resources that are very hard to come by unless you wanna fork out some cash. On top of that, several characters are receiving new movesets in the form of "Quirk Skill Sets". These are just flat-out direct upgrades to the original character, granting them much greater damage, mobility and survivability, and of course the only way to obtain them is to roll for them. As if that wasn't bad enough, owning these new quirk skill sets allows you access to even stronger buffs in the upgrade system mentioned before. And on top of that, you get a discount to the entry fee for ranked mode based on how many of these premium characters and skill sets you own.

New characters that release are just leagues better than the older characters who remain untouched and underperforming in every aspect. Byking knows how to make strong characters but they only care about making the strong characters be the ones you have to roll for.

The developers are still teasing crossplay despite the cheating situation being even worse than before with zero plans for any meaningful cheat prevention.
The final straw today was finding four hackers in one lobby, each of which have been cheating in the game since Season 6 at the very least and they're still unbanned, ruining the game right now. I've come across several cheaters with even more play time than me, and it seems like Byking has no intention to do anything about them.

These developers do not respect your time, so don't give it to them.

Very good game. Has its flaws, but overall a fun experience. I will note some grievances though;

- Aim bloom renders some weapons borderline impossible to use effectively.
- Unarmed enemies are by far the most frustrating thing to deal with. Inconsistent weapon stun means you get punished for actually shooting them. Just make them 100% stun when shot if they're charging you, like Ganado with rakes/pitchforks.
- Voice acting feels off for many characters (pretty sad that keyboard warriors think this means it's okay to harass the actors - it isn't, you nerds)
- Mercenaries update was very lacklustre; very little variety, very easy challenge, no unique rewards or achievements.
- Wesker and Ada missing from Mercs, very likely coming with Separate Ways/Assignment Ada DLC. If this DLC is paid DLC, MAJOR negative.

In a way, I am oddly glad this doesn't totally eclipse the OG RE4. There's still plenty of reason to head back to the original every once in a while, even if this remake stands on its own as a good game.

Just a heads up, by default your dogs will age and pass away BUT you can disable that in the options and your doggos will live forever. You can then instead store/release doggos you don't want anymore and keep the ones you like (kinda like Pokemon).

Just wanted to write this review with a heads up as I know that the loss of a pet is a sensitive/upsetting subject to some and wanted to avoid the potential heartbreak for a few of you, or if you intend to let your children play and believe this may upset them.

This game is hilarious. Pretty short, you'll beat it in one sitting, however it's absolutely worth the small price tag for such a clever little experience. Definitely gifting this to my friends.

As much as I love The Last Stand, I need to make this very clear; you are paying for the first three flash games with AI upscaling on the graphics and Steam achievements.

That is it. There is no new content, quality of life improvements or bug fixes with these games.

As a result I can only recommend purchasing this if you enjoyed The Last Stand flash games and consider achievements and an upscale worth the £7, which I personally do.
