Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Party Dash is a well-executed party action game by Cygames, although it still has some flaws in it.

Improvements to voice acting pacing and text boxes still need to be made, but this game is a solid fan service for fans of the Umamusume franchise who want to see their favorite horsegirl characters.

The secret weapon for replayability in Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Party Dash is not the Slapdash Grand Prix competition, but rather the Golshi's Grand Adventure 2 mini-game that will get you hooked and forget that you're playing a party action game, not a Vampire Survivor-themed game.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- Sweep the Board! is a solid alternative party board game for platforms outside of Nintendo, where it doesn't get Super Mario Party, but in terms of the quality of the minigames, the challenges provided, and the creativity that emerges, it is still far behind.

If you love the Demon Slayer anime or manga and want to play it with friends, companions, and family on the weekends, then this is a solid game to play together. If you're looking for a story or challenges, I suggest you think twice before buying it.

Persona 3 Reload manages to evoke the nostalgia and familiarity of Persona 3 in the modern era without losing its identity.

With new features taken from Persona 5, new mechanics and systems, new voice actors, new composers and singers, new cutscenes, new aesthetics, and so on, Persona 3 Reload's identity doesn't become damaged because of all these overhauls.

It's a successful remake that deserves the interest of its old and new fans, as this game will be remembered for a long time to come.

Unlike its predecessor game, Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio took a "slightly different" direction for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.

The stories of Kiryu Kazuma and Ichiban Kasuga are yakuza stories from different eras. Kiryu is an example of the old story of the yakuza era, while Ichiban is an example of a new pillar for the current yakuza era. It's time for Kiryu to pass the torch to Ichiban, even if it seems difficult.

All the characters introduced in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth are also not predictable at first glance. Like Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio's storytelling, no one knows how these characters will interact with each other until the story ends.

With the dual protagonist experiment, the many new characters introduced, the excellent audio quality, the increasingly polished turn-based gameplay, the ever-improving graphics quality, and the many new mini-games offered make Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth the definitive Yakuza/Like a Dragon game to date.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth defines how a game can focus on storytelling and player fun without sacrificing its core values.

The Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn expansion attempted to explore the story behind the merging of Dahna and Rena after the defeat of the Great Astral Spirit, introducing new characters such as Nazamil Hildris. Bandai Namco also attempted to explore Nazamil's psychological issues, but the theme was short-lived and a complete disappointment.

This expansion has several storylines going on at once, but this makes it feel repetitive and inconsistent. To make matters worse, almost all of Beyond the Dawn's content comes from Tales of Arise but is greatly reduced. Bandai Namco also failed to fix the background music, which gets louder and louder in Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn.

At least the graphics and gameplay quality in Tales of Arise - Beyond the Dawn is still consistent. There is room for improvement, but it must be significant to be noticeable.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is the answer and the reason why Kazuma Kiryu is still inextricably linked to the yakuza life, directly or indirectly.

Kazuma Kiryu is an iconic character that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio simply cannot replace. Therefore, a slow transition to replace Kiryu with his successor is the right move.

With increasingly refined gameplay and features such as the Akame Network to help players explore Sotenbori, this game is a culmination of years of experience from the many attempts Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has made with Kiryu's story. Unfortunately, the English dub of Kazuma Kiryu failed to live up to my expectations.

Persona 5 Tactica manages to bring the feel of Persona 5 to a tactical RPG genre without leaving the core of the franchise itself. With the introduction of new characters such as Erina and Toshiro, new players can play Persona 5 Tactica without having to worry about playing Persona 5 or other spin-off games.

This game is also basically a "time filler" for ATLUS so that they can fill the empty schedule ahead of Persona 6.

Alright, Sea of Stars is 100% complete.

What do I get, and what can I sell about this game?
  • The story is more or less the same as most other RPGs, with some herbs and spices from some classic JRPGs like Chrono Trigger, Suikoden, and others.
  • The gameplay is a turn-based RPG, with a note that the skills, menus, and gameplay are simplified like Octopath Traveler. If you were expecting to find hundreds of skills, hundreds of items, and the usual JRPG burnout stuff, you can breathe a sigh of relief.
  • The soundtrack is certainly amazing as it is being done by composer Yasunori Mitsuda.
  • Quality of life (QoL) is very polished for a released game in this state of industry. As far as I know, they've only updated once since launching the game in August 2023 due to grammar issues and text errors.
  • Do you like the element of recruiting people and building a village of your own? You might like this.
  • There is a Relic feature, which will help you during gameplay, battles, and exploration. The rest you can check yourself when playing it.
  • Don't get your hopes up about the side quests because honestly, the side quests in Sea of Stars are pretty meh, but they do serve a purpose at the end.
  • The bonus is that: this game is also available on Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. There's no reason for you not to try this game, at least for curiosity's sake.

There are a few things I might raise if you want to play Sea of Stars:
  • The game's story for the first 5 - 8 hours has a very, very slow pacing and you'll realize that there's a point where the story just returns to normal pacing again. This is a challenge because usually, people will drop out of a game if there isn't any significant progress in the story, especially in this case an RPG.

I'm guessing that the first 5 - 8 hours were an early prototype of Sea of Stars before they switched to Kickstarter and the story became more normal pacing after they got the funding, then brought in the writer and screenplay.

  • Aside from the pacing, the game's story also lacks further exploration because Sabotage Studio adopted dual MCs (although in the end it is focused on one MC and can be switched). This can be a selling point if they can explore the interaction of dual MCs, for example, they could have different responses when facing a problem and not just being a "Yes man" or "Yes woman".

When Sea of Stars introduced Garl (the dual MC's little friend) and saw his development until the end, I felt that Garl should be the MC rather than the dual MC. It's because Garl's story is interesting to follow and his character is charismatic.

  • In gameplay and battle situations, there may be some things that I don't like, namely UI overlapping and clarity.

So there is one playable character named Resh'an whose one skill can make enemies gather in one place (pulled by a black hole) so that they can be attacked with area skills. The problem is that: if 3 enemies have broken weaknesses above their heads and in the same place, what happens?

Inevitably the UI has to adjust the place to the empty place and sometimes it is troublesome for players because they have to guess which weakness of the enemy. This is also not made easier by the UI naming enemies without numbers such as "XXX" and "XXX", not "XXX 1" and "XXX 2". How can you tell the difference? Only from the enemy's HP, heck even you need to get an item for that alone.

Verdict from me?

With up to 40 hours of content at a reasonable price, Sea of Stars is very much a very good RPG in 2023 (and hey, it fits my taste too). Is it the best and unrivaled RPG that has come in recent years? Not for me because unfortunately, I tried Octopath Traveler II before this game.

If I were to convert everything above into a score like other game journalists in their media, I would give Sea of Stars 85/100 or 8.5/10.

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is a continuation and concluding message to Mohammad Fahmi. Toge Productions and Chorus Worldwide have skillfully conveyed Fahmi's last words in an engrossing and captivating manner.

However, like every new addition to a series, this affects the original game's plot and fundamental gameplay. Some of the stories might seem boring and the game less diverse, but new characters, drink ingredients, and features are added to make Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly more enjoyable and appealing to new players.

Ultimately, Coffee Talk is about the cafe's atmosphere, listening to customers' life stories and complaints. Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly is a great game to play after work and enjoy the unique stories from Toge Productions.
