There are games that make you feel emotions, but I find it rare that a game makes you feel so introspective and raw. Part of it may be that I am a creative and connect with a lot these thoughts within the game. That said, I think any player can find something to connect with, because everyone has had to let go at some point. Everyone has had self-doubt. Everyone has felt stuck at one point or another. Do yourself a favor and drop the 2 bucks on this game for a short experience that will stick with you for much longer.

Plus there's some pretty sweet lo-fi music, art, and narration to vibe to. ;)

One of the best games for narrative game fans. It looks like a CRPG, but plays closer to an interactive crime drama, if Dr. House and The Dude had a baby and grew up to be a cop. The themes within the game go deep (almost to the point where it's a bit pretentious), but if you're willing to invest in the characters, this will leave you feeling very fulfilled.

An interesting time sink though a little repetitive and difficult to progress.

Boss 101 was painstakingly crafted by the Donley Time Foundation team. They made sure to polish the game and add every necessary detail they could think of before release. Boss 101 is a shining example of how to make a game the right way.

As for the actual gameplay, it's turned me into a SHMUP player. The genre has never really been for me, but with this game I've had so much fun. The replayability is amazing with all of the different bosses, the humor is great, and the collectibles/unlocks really hit all the right buttons for me.

By the way, this being priced at $9.99 is a STEAL.

Early Access Review
I have a lot more time in the game than Steam shows due to playing early builds throughout its dev cycle.

Vidar is not only a clever and impressive use of the RPG maker engine (he basically gutted it and rewrote it to fit his needs for the game), but also has a cleverly written narrative where every time you play, it changes. You can't help but become attached to the characters even when you know one will die every day. Solve tons of puzzles which also change each gameplay!

Can you save the town from The Beast?

Jay Tholen, the developer, is a very talented man. The pixel art is detailed and beautiful like a watercolor painting. The puzzles are challenging enough to make you think and feel rewarded when you solve them, but not too hard so you feel frustrated. The story in this game is one of positivity and redemption which isn't very common in most games, so it's nice to have this heartwarming plot to play through (completely told through images, impressively). Finally, Chris Schlarb's msuic in this game is fantastic and I would reccommend anyone who can afford it, to purchase the "Warm Damp Hug Edition" of this game.

One of the best point n' clicks I've played in a long time.

Solarix is a labor of love. The developers not only worked tirelessly on this game for over 4 years, but they had to overcome a failed Kickstarter to do it. This game is gold for stealth lovers, horror fanatics and Youtubers. If you want to hear how much passion the devs put into this game, here's an interview with Mark Gregory, one of the devs.[indiegameriot.com]
