Feels weird to say this about a video game, but Kenshi is very much an experience where you'll get out what you put in. It's complex, opaque, and you'll need to push through a fair bit of jankiness to unlock its gooey center - but it's absolutely worth the investment. There's simply nothing else like it.

Absolutely love it. A meaningful evolution of the Vampire Survivors formula with a dash of classic Diablo.

Update: Have mostly been playing HoT on the SteamDeck. Runs well but with some slowdown during later stages. Still very playable.

Classic squad-based Battlefield action at an enormous scale. An absolute blast to play, and effortless social/party features make it a breeze to group up with your friends.

Completed the main campaign with a buddy over the course of ~15 hours. The game makes an excellent first impression, but much of what you discover lacks any meaningful payoff. Each of the individual systems (base building, inventory management, enemy behavior, etc) are individually compelling, but are seriously lacking in depth.

That said - the bones of this game are extremely solid. With some balance adjustments, content updates, and a bit of TLC, Sons of the Forest could be an absolutely phenomenal experience. But even in its current state, it's a blast to play with friends and easily worth the price of admission ($30 USD at the time of this review).

Roadwarden is a fantastic game that transports you into a rich and well-crafted fantasy world, similar to a D&D campaign but with an open-world RPG twist. It's not just a "Choose your own adventure" story with branching dialog options - you get to explore and create your own path.

When I first heard about Roadwarden, I was hesitant to try it out because I'd never played a text-based RPG or visual novel before. But I'm glad I gave it a chance because it turned out to be a really enjoyable experience. It reminded me of the illustrated skill-check sections in Pillars of Eternity, but fully fleshed out with more depth and complexity.

It's not officially "Steam Deck Certified" yet, but I haven't had any major problems playing it on the Deck. The only minor issue I had was with the touch-pad cursor being a bit finicky when selecting small UI elements like the scroll bar.

Overall, I highly recommend Roadwarden to anyone who loves fantasy fiction, D&D, or well-crafted RPGs.

Easily one of my favorite games of all time. Well worth the cost, and I'd recommend each of the expansions as well.
