Bought this game in hope of getting a good amount of challenge and frustration that last for weeks. Too bad it didn't last as long. I finished this game in 5 hours of playtime without touching (or even buying) heart(s).

The key to winning the game is to learn and adapt to the bosses' attacks. It's pretty much trial and error. Those who learns fast will get this game down quickly. So don't be sad if you die a lot.

Pros :
- Awesome artstyle (Isn't that one of the main points of this game?)
- Fairly (yes. fair.) difficul. (But this only makes you feel more accomplished on victories.)
- Fast paced gameplay which you can pick up anytime (1-3 Minutes per game, not too bad.)
- Creative bosses that will surprise you with their weird attacks (For a blind playthrough, a new attack may be guranteed damage since you don't know their telegraphs. Although they're super clear except for a few.)
- Punishing for those who want to go easy (You can't finish the game on easy a.k.a simple difficulty.)
- Is cheaper in my currency.

Cons :
- Certain bosses can get on your nerves pretty fast.
- Is not long enough if you're looking for a game to play often.
- Not that much of replayability. But maybe if you love pain from video games.

Overall very fun game that is considerably hard. It's quite unforgiving since there's no checkpoint. I'd recommend this game to anyone looking for a good challenge. But not for those who want a long game to enjoy.

This review is written for those who isn't fond of the Bloons series as well. Although it is unlikely for them to read one.

Note that I've probably wasted a few hundreds of hours into this game on its mobile version.

My favorite game on mobile,is now on steam. I like its p2w-ness.
For those who's already getting salty, this game is a Play-to-Win game. It's an extraordinary tower defense game. Rather than placing a few good towers and wait for an hour to win,how about a real time battle with someone else?

If you think this game is pay to win,not at all. I can still win 50 matches in a row without paying a single buck.

BTD Battles pits you against a real human opponent, with 2 main game modes to play

1.Assault mode

This game mode is the main and the most popular game mode in the whole game. The goal is to send units known as "bloons" against your opponent's defense, while maintaining your own defense to sustain their attacks as well. But you might think, you have to wait just to get units that are strong enough to crush your opponent and do nothing while nothing to unlock the said unit, right? Wrong. This game has an "income" mechanic, which delivers you money every few (6) seconds, this amount is increased by sending units against your opponents. And the income increase is also larger when you send more expensive units.

"Woah,so we just keep sending strongest units against them while building up cash for our defense?"
Still wrong! Some of the higher units give less income per cost,no income increase at all,or even decrease your income! So you'll have to plan for everything. So no more spamming strongest units endlessly while waiting to win.

"But income's only way to gain cash?"
No. There are many other ways, like a farm that produce money which is in fact more popular than income itself. Or even a tower that is capable of creating traps to trap lower units and make money off them.

"what's the best thing to send against your opponent?"
Camgrow reds. Search up "BTD Battles Camgrow reds" on YouTube for more detail about these beasts.

"enough about this assault thing, move on!"
Ok.

2.Defensive Mode.

The goal of this game mode is to outlast your opponent. You can't send bloons, you begin with very small amount of income. So it's your job to spend your money in a correct way. I myself find this game mode quite boring because :
-Long Games
-Fixed type of bloons each waves
-Pretty much fixed kind of gameplay
-You can't really do anything to your opponent.

"No bloon sends, bad income, how do we get money faster?"
Good news, there's income boost which cost money, and they are much more most efficient compared to income increases in assault mode.

"You got anything else to say about this game mode?"
No sorry,let's move on.

Other Stuff :
Usually, this game is not laggy at all. Even with 2GB of RAM. But there's a few situation where the game can create massive lag though. Graphics are cartoony, but is very neat. Also free to play and newbie friendly even you don't know how to play a tower defense game.

TL;DR
Nah.

This tower defense game is free-for-all,easy to play and understand. It has 2 game modes, outlast your opponent,or defeat them by your units/"bloons". It is very enjoyable can contains endless hours of fun.

But beware, this game can make you a lot of salt in a very short time. So hope you are ready.

At the end,I'll rate this game 9.9/10. There are still design flaws to a certain tower which can be ridicilously powerful despite its not so expensive cost. But I don't mind it much.
