Best of both worlds of Dwarf Fortress and Rimworld. Doesn't require as much time investment to get into as Dwarf Fortress. I'd be happy to call it feature-complete and I view future updates as sweet additional things to look forward to.

The UI looks nice. However, it is an overhaul and issues have not been 100% ironed out. 10+ years of muscle memory has been more or less wiped out, which is the saddest part. Nevertheless, take my money.

Maybe the best way to vouch for this game is by comparing it to another venerable game. If you liked Age of Decadence, you'd definitely like this game.

Unfortunately, the combination of mediocre combat and writing is too much of a dealbreaker for me to enjoy this game. Perhaps I would feel different if I had the nostalgia of Fallout 2 to back up my experience, but I don't.

A game of a similar vein but which I enjoyed would be Age of Decadence. Same kind of mediocre combat but good and well-paced writing.

Every endgame asset you can earn bit by bit, hunting for months and trading whatever you earn in return for goods.

Or you can buy an axe, go to your nearest village, stand behind a chokepoint, and pay the iron price for your assets.

This is the very embodiment of a sandbox roguelike.

Promising game. POSSIBLY too ambitious for such a small dev team. The Dev team is not good at communicating with the fanbase in terms of updates etc.

However, this does not take away from the game and its successor's huge potential, as well as pure fun.
