I'm saddened by this whole affair.
I used to LOVE the Borderlands franchise, but now some chucklenut funks decided to add spyware cause they need money for more drugs.

Take-Two:
"Pay us and obey us, idiots."

So until they get these head-knuckles out of Take-Two/Gearbox or they backtrack the EULA update, I'm giving this a sad thumbs DOWN.

A true sequel to Steamworld Heist.

Highly recommended for those looking to scratch that itch the original left.

I want to say that I enjoy the game, I really do.
I loved the game in the past and played it to death, but this sorely lacks the details that make it a 60$ remake as opposed to just playing the 20$ on Wii.

Reused Cinematic Cutscenes - the EXACT same cinematics used for the Wii. They just edited out the Wii Remote and Nunchuk. And not in the fancy different style, no. They just blacked out the controls for it. Exact same animated cutscenes, nothing new at all. It would’ve been an amazing detail to add new animations or in-game cutscenes. But they simply recycled in the laziest way.

No improvements or alteration to the story - Some might say that's a good thing, but to me that just means that didn't bother improving or touching up the game. Its the same game from 14 years ago with a shiny new appearance, but literally the same thing but with a bigger price sticker on it.
I guess it was my own interpretation of what they meant by “rebrushed”.
I was hoping for a remaster, but alas, its just texture changes.

3D Cutscenes - Now the original had a certain limitations, but it was also impressive animation style, however for the remake, it felt as though they ripped it from the original, slapped a new texture on it and called it a day. The cinematic cutscenes like the intro are its selling points, but the other cutscenes don’t sit right.

Movement - No auto sprint and the sprint button is ctrl key, so that a new unneeded feature. Sprint control. Why?

Purple lamp defiantly got the world and feel right for the game, but they really should’ve gone with a $30 deal instead of $60.
(Backtracking aspect would've been a nice touch too.)

It’s not a remake, it’s a retexture port with slower pace, dated story, and unneeded movement “enhancements”.

If you want to replay a childhood game, go for it, but it’s the same gimmick with a fresh coat of paint.

As much as I would LIKE to say I enjoy this game, there is an extreme oversight. There's no dedicated servers.
None.
So if you want to play the game against a friend or whoever after you beat the game, good f&%king luck. Cause connections is A.B.S.O.L.U.T.E D.O.G-S.H.I.T.
You'll be stuck in laggy hell trying to fight for your life while you get headshotted from nowhere.
So unless have friends that have good internet and want to mess with them, go for it.
But its pretty damn ♥♥♥♥ Random PvP.

Ignore the reviews of Servers, they got it fixed now.

But HOLY HELL this game feels GREAT to play! Everyone starts the same, everything is balanced and fair, and frankly I've never had this much fun with a comp shooter. Most comp shooters have that either lucky drop or op hero that just grind 1000+ hours on, but here?
Balanced. As all things should be.

Can't recommend it enough.

This here. This is the Apex killer.

FANTASTIC improvement from its infamous second game. Baldur's Gate 3 is probably the current best DnD-Like game.

This basically set a gold standard for future DnD games.

Quick Pros:
The Mechanics, Newer Class types, and new weapons.

Quick Cons:
The Story is Meh, forced new characters no one cares about nor like and the ever so obvious cash grab of the DLC's.
The Customization isn't as well loved in previous games and less diverse.

Quick Overall Summery:
The writers mailed this in and the programmers are the real heroes here.

My Opinion:
It's not worth 60 bucks. Its so not worth 60 bucks. It's worth 20 Dollars, AT MOST.
The DLC's need to be like 3 bucks, not friggin' 25 Bucks for a skin pack.
It's good, but I dislike its story direction and the cash grabbing.

But now even LESS so, thanks to the Spyware bullshunk. What the funking shüt, Randy??

Well the good news is that I get to play finally.

...and the bad news is that it cooked my PC like a Christmas Dinner.

I guess we should've invested in more powerful computers?

You either become an unstoppable god with infinite magic missles or become the fool who gets one-shotted by the first enemy.

Game is great, but its unforgiving and unpredictable .

It's like Fortnite and Saints Row had an ugly child.

It has the same enjoyability lifespan too.
