Imagine releasing a game, an incredible game. A game that brought so many people together in a time where the gaming industry seemed lost to corporate greed and minimal effort. Now imagine taking that wonderful game and saying "Oops! Sorry gang, our lovely corpo-rat overlords say you REQUIRE another third party account to play a game that you've already been playing for three months without an issue! If you don't make an account for a completely different, less secure digital ecosystem (playstation) you can't play our pc game anymore! Booooo ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hoooo". Honestly I didn't think much of it at first. I already had a playstation account from ages ago and I had planned on just letting it rot on my launch ps4, but I have to dig up its putrid grave once more to attach it to a steam account, which I really don't want to do because of Sony's plethora of security issues spanning nearly a decade. Then I discovered how many countries are not allowed to make a playstation account simply because of where they are on the globe......... This game has brought so many people together with the awesome power of DEMOCRACY at our fingertips, don't pull the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ rug here, guys. Don't do a Tarkov. The game works just fine without a playstation account and sony sticking their grubby, sticky fingers into the wonderful pudding that WAS Helldivers 2. Let the Arrowhead team cook, they were ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ slaying in the kitchen like Gordon Ramsey, but now Sony wants more data and funny spreadsheet numbers to make their shareholders and the top three chooms at the company happy. Let Arrowhead do their thing. Listen to them. They made a game that nobody has been able to make in years! Don't fix what ain't broke! Just take your corpo cut for using your logo when showing the trailer, stop being so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ greedy. Not everything is about your funny spreadsheets. READ THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ REVIEWS, NOBODY WANTED THIS CHANGE!!!! Watch a youtube video, read a reddit post, scroll for two milliseconds on twitter, read the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ room, choom. I would hate to stop playing this game, but I can't support sony stepping all over smaller studios that have a successful game and ruining it with greed, corruption, and another account. How many accounts do we need to have nowadays? Are we just gonna need a login for every game? ♥♥♥♥, while we're at it, let's add an account for each planet in the game! If I had the money, I would buy Arrowhead from sony and just set them free to sail upon their glistening golden wings. I can't even fathom the sorts of wonders they could pump out.

If the spreadsheet quarterbacks at Sony want to see their data, let's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ give it to them. They'll see review data, they'll see refunds, they'll notice a landslide in ratings. If they want to ♥♥♥♥ with our games, we can ♥♥♥♥ with their spreadsheets, quarterly bonuses, and earnings reports. Games are about telling stories, exploring unimaginable worlds, delimiting creativity, and breaking boundaries. So many game companies have done so many layoffs recently because they see their profitability shrivel up like a worm in the sun because the recent fad of games has been "lets create a mediocre experience as a marketplace to sell skins and other cosmetics" And guess what??? Helldivers absolutely shredded this trend and it's success was nigh unprecedented. And at the price point of less than half the cost of a bundle from a skin marketplace experience (I can't even call them games at this point) that includes two skins, a spray, and a funny title card. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ learn, corporate rats. Don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ruin this diamond in a sea of gravel to get a percentage increase in profits you can count on one hand.

TLDR: Spreadsheet jockey corpo-rats want data and money so they effectively ban a great deal of the playerbase from playing a game they already paid for because it was more successful than they thought it would be.
