the recent major update has been huge for the feel of the game and the foundation of what's to come. The game now has all the bones of a well polished casual extraction shooter with plenty of customization options, only really lacking in content (and hideout upgrading but that's not that important tbh). All we really need now is more maps, more weapons and weapon parts, attachments, and loot. Perhaps some more AI work would be nice too but everything is there and fairly stable/polished systems wise.

The ai in its current state is similar if not better than tarkov PvE ai and they have done stuff like flanked me, or waited until i got down to the bottom floor from the roof of a building before rushing in to try and assault my position. If you're willing to wait a while for updates and don't mind the current lack of maps/content then this is definitely a good buy, especially if you have friends to play with. The next major update will add a new map as well, apparently more focused on longer range engagements and more open.

TLDR: Cautious yes recommendation, only if you're willing to look past a lot of jank and maybe performance issues.

ye its still very janky, after coming back to it after a long break from the start the game HAS improved, coop is slightly more stable, but overall still barely playable with how often ♥♥♥♥ just bugs out.

IF you're willing to look past that, and that's a big IF for a lot of people, this game has unmatched atmosphere and immersion. Solo is fairly stable and the latest june update allowed me to go from 45-50 fps at 60% render scale to 80-90 fps at 80% render scale, so they are working on it.

If you run an AMD card I'd highly recommend looking into optiscaler, I was able to swap out the DLSS for FSR 3 (FSR 4 is available if your card can run it), and now with FSR framegen + FSR 3 at 80% render scale I'm running a solid 120-140 fps in every map i've tried.

yes it's early, a bit janky and kinda runs like ass but man this scratches my pve tarkov itch more than sptarkov itself does, the open world is nice as ♥♥♥♥ and with the 0.3 wipe (winds of war) the bases around the map you can capture to access your stash/respawn/turn in quests makes it feel like a completely new game, for the better.

This game has some of the best rain i've ever seen in gaming period that truly impacts your game play, and while the bots are a bit janky and hitreg is wacky at times the atmosphere and gameplay makes up for it tenfold, this would be the wipe to get into it if you're hesitant. If they keep this quality and pacing up in the rest of the updates this game will easily be a 10/10 in 6 months, let alone 12 or a couple years from now.

2 hours into a campaign with my room mate, out on the open seas,
go raid some pirates for loot,
pirate steals all my gold on turn one,
turns 2 and 3, get pirate down to 5 health,
pirate's turn, leaves with all of my gold.
10/10

I played an extra ~40 hours in the playtest on top of what is shown here, simply put this game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ masterpiece. It perfectly captures the battlefield feel while delivering planetside 2 scale battles with a comfortable mix of hardcore and arcade. Plus, it's perfectly optimized, on an rtx 3060 and ryzen 3600 I consistently get 120-200 fps no matter what is going on with 250 players. It's insane.

It's an isometric mash-up of STALKER and Escape from Tarkov, made by one guy. Early game is definitely a bit rough and there's a bit of grind but overall it's very solid for what it is. If the developer manages to implement co-op and expands upon the content this game will easily be a 10/10.

This game is like a mix of mount & blade combat and exanima's combat/tournament system with roguelite elements. It's got a bit of early access jank but overall it's a very solid gladiator game. I am excited to see what Jordy implements in the future.

I mean, it's honestly very hard to review this game in it's current state. Gameplay wise, the gunplay is smooth as hell, reminds me a lot of ground branch and tarkov. But that's all you're really getting in it's current state. Admittedly ground branch isn't much further ahead content wise so I'd say if you're looking for ground branch but with zombies it's not a bad option.

There isn't much actual SCP content yet but supposedly in October there will be a large SCP oriented content update.

Like I said, if you want ground branch but more casual (at least in the wave based mode that I've played) then this isn't a bad choice, as long as you're willing to accept that this is an unfinished game and likely won't be close to finished for at least another year or two.

Overall it's exactly what I wanted from the PC port, smooth framerates (averaging 100-144 on an rtx 3060), higher res textures, and the ability to play without having to swap HDMI cables every single time. Some people are reporting issues getting into the game but I personally haven't had any issues with it. One thing I will say though is that the hitboxes feel slightly jankier in the PC port as I've been getting hit way more by moves that I could dodge consistently in rise.
