Chiki briki!

Welcome to the Zone Stalker..

This game was a long time coming. This series has inspired so many games from Zero Sievert, Chernobylite, Tarkov and many others. If you are not familiar with the series think, Fallout set in a 2000s in Ukraine, with an expansive open world "and a little bit of that eastern euro charm". So now after years of modding my multiple fall out games to resemble annd play like STALKER and trying to get GAMMA to work right (lol i hate that setup) Its time to retire them and move on from the old and busted to the new hotness, STALKER 2

Before we get started about what I like and Dislike Id like to preference my System Specs for a baseline

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5GHz (5.4GHz Max Boost) 8-Core 16-Thread

GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4080 Super Gaming X Slim

Motherboard: MSI B650-VC V2 DDR5 Motherboard

RAM: TeamGroup Delta RGB 32GB DDR5 6000 MHz (2x16GB)

SSD: Kingston 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD and WD BLACK SN850X NVME 4 GB (game is installed here)

All Drivers up to date latest Nvidia and Windows, Bios etc

The Good

Graphics - Beautiful Graphics, This is going to be some of the best wasteland your going to see outside of a fully modded GAMMA stalker, 1000+ Modded FALLOUT 4 etc. Not exactly as beautiful as lets say a Cyberpunk but the lighting and fidelity are top notch. no Slouch here.

Game play - Gun-play is very good! I'm use to Euro jank and they have their charm to them and this one I was expecting to have that classic jank but tbh its bad at all however there is a caveat I do need to add in the bad section to this. If I? could descibe the feel of the gameplay to someone thats coming in fresh and tbh this is also pretty fresh even for vets. It has a similar feel to far cry, fallout, tarkov/cod (in certian movement)

Sound - Man o Man does it sound great the Ambiance and Sound profile is great. You can here the crackle of bullets and echoing from distance. Things shuffle and move and it will cause you to stop and look to make sure your not tripping and getting ready to be attacked. This is near ARMA and Hunt showdown in terms of sound.

Story - I'm still fairly early so I wont state much on this it wouldn't be fair. This game does feel however as closer to an rpg of a " Make your own path" There's a lot of decisions that are meaningful and if its anything like the last games then your actions will cause certain things to play out in multiple ways based on if you decided to kill one guy or spare them.

Performance pt1 - at Epic settings 3440x1440 I'm getting anywhere between 90-120 fps with DLAA (no dlss) and frame gen on.

The Bad

While I do wish I could have a in between rating I'm still going to recommend this game only due to a few bugs that I have ran into 1 that causes a hard stop crash and what seems to be a "Memory Leak Issue"

Performance pt2 - As you read above I have a pretty nice system. Not a slouch at all. I pretty much run all my games at max settings with all bells and whistles with no issues so its easier to spot when a game seems to be optimized. While overall performance is great there is one glaring issue that is causing slowdowns that will drop into the 2-10 fps and that is MEMORY LEAK!

The game seems to slow down after a long play session of close to an hour. You will get some slow downs in certain areas like towns and places where NPC may be located.
The only way to fix that I've found so far is closing the game and restarting and waiting another hour before it happens. It seems to speed up the process if I go in and out of town multiple times to replicate it.

I have experience this SAME thing in Tarkov before they fixed this issue. I REALLY hope they fix this issue first as I've seen other post report this as well.

then there are the funny bugs and there a plenty. While it does not effect me most of the time I have seen the Bethesda like flying rag-dolls multiple times, while funny can turn some people off and take them out of that immersion but I find it funny its a game whatever. I;ll take funny bugs over the major memory leak and hard crash bug anyday.

Controls - Slow mouse or what I call float mouse and right analog stick for controller. Seem to be related to Vsync and Nvidia DLSS. I tried disabling DLSS and using DLAA and kind of soften the problem. IT only rely effects me with shotguns but everything else is fine I can manage but again this is something they need to fix.

Keybindings seem to be missing allowing to rebind keys to the F keys like classic stalker. At least for me f1-f4 not working. The default setup is not what I recommend I would encourage rebinding some of the keys for your liking. Controller keybinds are good.

Conclusion -

While I do wish I could have a in between rating I'm still going to recommend this game only due to a few bugs that I have ran into 1 that causes a hard stop crash and what seems to be a "Memory Leak Issue"

So far this has been the only negatives I have spotted and These could be easy fixes. I do hope the devs are well and safe as I know they are in the middle of a on going situation in their county but even as a fan I want to point these out.

Overall as a mentioned, while I do wish I could have a in between rating I'm still going to recommend this game only due to a few issues it wont stop me from playing it for now. I'm all in!

Now get out there and collect those artifacts STALKER!

Spawn into game with friend.

Instantly started a 10 second countdown stating that I'm about to be against democracy because I'm outside of the mission area.

Starts Orbital Bombardment that does not kill me instantly yet keeps rag dogging me from lef tot right flinging me meters at a time.

Finally delivered a mercy kill exploding all my limbs off at once!

10/10 Would never defy Democracy again my fault!

This is a review from someone that has over 3000 hours on record and 100's of craft files between steam and kerbal x for download.

This game has saved my creativity and desire for building Fighter jets, Real World Space Craft, Sci-fi Space Craft, Mechs, Wheeled Vehicles, Bases, Space Stations. Basically you name it, I've probably made it! If your like me and you grew up Building Craft, Lego's, Robotics, RC vehicles etc then this is the game for you no question! You seriously can do it all.

If you have a young child that is interested in any of the above and want to have something to push their creativity and inspire them later on in life to pursue those dreams. Get this game for them asap. (I wish I had something like this when I was younger!)

This game is also good if you want something to chill out to if you play very serious games and want a break!

You can build and upload your craft on the Workshop (come visit my page for lots of specialized craft) keeping it stock or if the uploaded craft requires a mod they generally will list it (I don't use mods for my downloads btw) There is also another popular website people upload their craft at which is (kerbalx dot com) (Interstellarkev is my user on here). There is a huge community out there and various Discords you can join to get help, tips, and inspiration.

This game does not require a super computer to run but it is challenging with FPS and loading if you start building over 1000 parts. This is a CPU dependent game. There are tons of graphical mods you can download to make things look more pretty if you would like to but you will need a GPU that has at least 8 GB Vram to balance it out properly

Some of my favorite graphical mods are

Program CKAN (this will allow you to download mods from the internet without manually installing but some mods you may want to manual install. the rest you can find on the official kerbal space program forum)

Environmental Visual Enhancements Redux or (EVE REDUX for short)
Planet Shine
Waterfall
Scatter
TUFX
Textures Unlimited with Magpie and Textures Unlimited Recolour Depot (T.U.R.D) (this is to change color on parts)

I can't recommend this game enough. it's great. Factually better than the 2nd one as of right now. Worth the full price or buy it on sell if you must. The DLC is also worth it! If you can only buy 1 DLC I recommend the Breaking Grounds DLC btw as it adds robotic parts so you can make things like Mechs, Tanks, Sci-Fi Craft, General moving parts with hinges and pistons, Helicopters Propeller Planes etc. I have made a plethora of mechanical crafts.

Alright stop reading and buy it now!

Yo! This is my first review and well what can I say this is a great roguelike, dare I say a near perfect roguelike that I have ever played. It sits in unique sphere of a rougelike meets meets beat-em up/ dungeons crawler with a sprinkle of dating sim that hits on all levels making it a class of its own.

After countless hours of Attempting to escape, getting my rear end handed to me by Hades and sent back to the front door of his fathers domain; has an addictive gameplay loop that just pulls you into its story that is feed though dialog after you eventually die. Death is not a bug its a feature to unlocking more story that keeps you craving to hear more.

I will always look at this game as a now stepping stone that other rougelikes will have to reach since this game has ruined me now for the genre. I know the history of this game companies past games so this is there best so far in my opinion. Looking forward to know if they will ever make a part two and take this to other parts of this world to experience the other gods left out and potentially a new protagonist if need be.

I don't want to keep this review too long. If you haven't played it or on the fence. Just get it. Its not a 59.99 triple A priced game but I would have gladly paid that much for it if it was for its quality.

(Disclaimer, I have bought on Nintendo Switch as well as soon as cross saves was introduced but was gifted from a friend for how good he claimed it was.)

Pure fighting game through and through. Technical, great graphics, solid frame rate, great character selection. one of the last great 2D fighting games with great sprites and wonderful animation. If you have the funds for this or its ever on sale BUY IT you will not be disappointed!
