If the Onion made a Game
also works with the Steam Deck

This game works fine on the Steam Deck with Proton 9. I run it in desktop mode with a bluetooth keyboard for easier typing, but you wont type more that 50 characters at any time.

Great commentary on the industry, and some dumb offensive humor if your ok with Dead Baby Jokes .

Clever puzzles and not an idle clicker designed to waste your time. 100% worth the $.99. #supportGoDotDevs

Early Access Review
Came here for Murdermon... left feeling like a terrible manager who can't keep their employees from feeling neglect even though you have given them everything you have to make them happy. 10/10 game.

Discover the captivating world of this lightweight game that gradually reveals its depth over time. In the initial 5 rounds, you may find yourself a bit perplexed, but fear not - through a few failures, the mechanics will start to make sense. Around the 10th attempt, the strategic elements will become clearer, and by the 20th round, you'll grasp the full scope of the game.

Reminding me of games like Minesweeper, it boasts round repetition and impressive replayability. However, it sets itself apart by incorporating a chess-like strategic element into each space you encounter. Prepare yourself for an engaging and pleasantly addictive puzzle experience that perfectly fits short breaks with its 1-10 minute rounds, but also offers the potential for hours of play for the skilled players out there.

In conclusion, I highly recommend giving this game a try!

Upon entering this cat cafe game on my Steam Deck, my expectations were low, not because it seemed bad, but because I didn't expect much in general. It took around 30 minutes to grasp the mechanics and loop, which weren't explained well (probably in the tutorial I skipped). As a designer, I believe the progression could have been more natural as you unlock new features, instead of being thrown into it abruptly. However, understanding the connections between elements and mechanics was easy due to the game's overall simplicity.

Initially, the game ran flawlessly at 60fps, but it experienced a dip in performance towards the end with many moving components. Nevertheless, being an indie game, it didn't bother me too much since my staff managed the cafe, allowing me to focus on catching cats and socializing like a real boss... 😮‍💨.

Throughout the story, you get to know other characters and their backstories, even playing a game of DND with them, which adds to the wholesome experience 😁. While it's not too difficult to avoid failure, mastering the game requires some effort, though it's certainly possible. Only the end game achievements feel like a time sink.

The game offers a delightful blend of Sims, Overcooked, and Nintendo Catz elements, creating a unique and enjoyable experience. It brings the charm of building a house/cafe from Sims, the fast-paced cafe management from Overcooked, and the adorable feline companions from Nintendogs + Cats. This combination adds a layer of fun and creativity, making it a soothing tycoon experience for players.

In conclusion, I had a great time playing this game and would definitely recommend giving it a try!

A remarkable game that left me feeling genuinely touched and moved. In a world where lengthy campaigns often dominate the gaming landscape, this beautifully crafted experience is a shining example that brevity can still pack a powerful punch. It effortlessly combines a captivating short story with light puzzle elements, creating an immersive and heartwarming journey.

One of the game's greatest strengths lies in its ability to strike a delicate balance. The puzzles are challenging enough to require thoughtful consideration, yet never so difficult that they become overwhelming. You don't need to be a mathematical genius to navigate the game successfully; it welcomes players from all backgrounds and skill levels.

While "Builders Journey" excels in many aspects, there is one minor gripe I have: some of the later levels' objectives can be a bit ambiguous, requiring a bit of trial and error to decipher. Nevertheless, this minor flaw does not detract significantly from the overall experience.

I played the game on my Steam Deck, and I was thrilled to find that it ran smoothly at a flawless 60 frames per second. There were a few glitches where certain pieces were placed in unexpected locations, but they were not game-breaking and did not dampen my enjoyment of the adventure. It's worth noting that the game is designed with versatility in mind, as it accommodates lower-end systems while also recommending RTX cards for optimal performance.

"Builders Journey" is a masterclass in restraint, showcasing the art of storytelling and puzzle-solving in a concise yet profound manner. The sandbox mode, while slightly clunky with a controller, still provides enjoyable moments of creativity and exploration. Overall, I cannot recommend this game highly enough. It touched my heart and reminded me that greatness can be found in even the smallest of packages.
