The game is good, people that leave negative reviews for the game being too hard can make it easy on themselves by going after scadutree's to level up damage and damage negation, or using summons. It's understandable if it's because of stability issues like fps or crashes. Miyazaki already warned people including veteran souls players that this will be hard, as if ur coming back as a new souls player due to how difficult it is. The mantra get gud has never been more true for solo play for most bosses in this dlc. But as I've stated you don't have to do that because you have other options to make it easier for yourself.

The game itself as whole is amazing, my only gripe is the bosses with horses who runs way too much during a fight with it's hitboxes to you being close to impossible when you've clearly dodged it. Otherwise a lot of people here are becoming journalists that complain about the difficulty in a souls game.

Leaving a positive review to offset the negative reviews on here.
As a Game this is a masterpiece as horrible as the decisions of Sony is, people should learn to separate a good game to a decision by corporate.

If you don't like the decisions made by the higher ups don't buy it, I've done the same for games on ubisoft by letting my wallet do the talking. But Spamming negative reviews that don't represent the game fully is outright childish.

If you truly dislike something about the game put it on a summary and mark it cons. Otherwise it's still a good game period. This game runs very well and I get about 4k 120 plus fps with dlaa and fg with my setup. I've played this on the ps5 and ps4 and wholeheartedly support the developers of SuckerPunch to porting a beautiful finished and well told game under Nixxes who did horizon forbidden west and others.

10/10 is my score for this game as well as the previous itteration.

Probably the best looking game on PC, funny how when it came out it was also the best looking game on the PS5 as well and still is (IMO), I remember taking a lot of photos and being stunned in awe at how gorgeous the game looked. Now on PC even more so, the game is very optimized and I had to put a review on this game, as for the graphics alone it is a 10/10. Story 8 or 9. Due to the story being more less centralized and less impactful as the first game in terms of finding out who she was. But it's still worth it for the price of admission due to how vast the game is.

I'm putting this review up so playstation/Sony will put more games like this, and I will do the same for the upcoming ghost of tsushima. HOW MANY GAMES DO I HAVE TO BUY till they put god of war ragnarok, bloodborne, and others to be day one on the PC platform.

HERE! SONY TAKE MY MONEYYYYY!!!

Amazing Game for the Price it asks, Hollow Cocoon looks and runs amazingly well, Just from the beginning sequence alone is what sold me on it. The demo is what made me purchase this without hesitation.

The focus of the game is more of it's story and lore, the gameplay loop of running and hiding can be repetitive and simple. But I stayed for the rich story and horror elements. I ran the game on native Japanese with english subtitles, the sound in this game is well done I can hear the monster walk or run around my vicinity which can be heart inducing. Plus the bugs and wind, to the tap water making noise is refreshing to making the world feel alive. What I liked the most and may be spoilers is there are multiple endings, not crazy ones like triple A games, but are servicable for this price point. This could have been $25 and it would have been worth it on that alone, but this is well made for an indie game. Even after finishing the game I would run it randomly and walk around because of how beautiful it is, from its interior decor and outside scenary. Game is a 9/10, I will look forward more from this publisher and further game releases along the line.

The only thing holding it from a 10/10 is that I played it on hard mode, and the monster knew exactly where I was as I ran around trying to duke it out, You think you lost her, but you are dead wrong and it happened way too many times and it felt cheap. The monster isn't dumb and checks behind her once in a while, but she somehow knows where I'm at with quick precision. Playing on normal it felt more easier to duke her out and actually react the way you think it would. But on hard or nightmare mode it you might need to play it slow like I did, and to be fair I did beat the game on hard mode on my first play through. The saving grace was the different endings from the shop you can buy while getting "winning tickets in game" by playing mini games on an old machine, where you insert a coin and flick it to the finish line without falling out of the playing field.

Edit: I was messing around and played this on different monitors, I prefer to play this on a VA mini led or Especially on an OLED monitor, the IPS monitor I have looks very washed out even though it's a high end model from LG, For horror games the blacks really make the world feel more alive and 3d ish, something an IPS can't do. You don't need an oled or va mini led, but it is more immersive compared to the former. Once you go OLED or Mini LED VA monitor you can't go back in my opinion Especially for horror games. Just had to add this out there because the wood model on the oled looks remakable for example, producing different shade of bright dark brown wood that shines, which the IPS couldn't do. It felt like I was actually stepping on wood that had texture, and that goes for the rest of the scenary as weird as that sounds lol.

Early Access Review
Amazing Game, that I highly recommend playing with friends. The only bad thing is I wish it had more maps, and more slots for friends to join since the max slots to join is only 4. Other than that I have high hopes for this game since it's already pretty good in Early Access. It is worth the price tag it is asking for and more if they keep going with the updates.

Game Comparisons and Gameplay:
If you love games that have this dark atmosphere and feeling isolated, like Alan Wake, Dead Space, Alien Isolation, and Doom 3 or horror games in general, this game while not perfect, hits that aspect just right. While I don't feel it's as scary as it's predecessors the graphics and world building is where it shines and makes you feel alone in a big world.(If you truly want a next gen game look no further it comes equally to god of war ragnarok in visuals) The gameplay needs some work, since dodging is it's main focus (away from deadspace). It can be a hit or miss. Because most fights are now close combat relying on you're batton and holding the dodging button (Not timing it just holding it left and right and it will automatically dodge) with a few guns and kinetic abilities (not as prevalent to use as in Deadspace). Which might put you off, but every time I was frustrated with the gameplay, because dying in this game is you're friend. (literally there's so many different animation per monster) I was met with the the beautiful landscape of a barren land with my characters looking so good with Unreal Engine 4. The characters look like their real life counter parts, you can tell a lot of love was put in this game even with the challenges it faced. It's just a shame that it was released in this state.

Performance:
In the beginning I was getting 30-70 fps on high with ray tracing and without with big stuttering from my first play through, most of my hours consisted of trying to fix the game than play it. I'm running a 3080 ti with 5950x (getting a 4090 soon and will test that as well), and I put in a ticket with steam to get a refund.

Updates:
Then I heard the Developer put a new update that fixes the stuttering and performance issues. I was like no way this will fix everything. So far it is a god send and now I'm getting over 110 fps and below with everything on high with No raytracing. I replayed the first walk through and it was butter smooth on a 1440p 240 hz monitor.

Thoughts:
This update does not fix everything, their is still minor stuttering (which is less with g-sync on), and some fps dips, but not as bad as before. At least now it's playable. I will recommend this because at least they are working on it with a patch on day one. I will change my review as I play this game.

Recommendations:
Also I recommend playing this game on an OLED or VA panel as the blacks really shine and change the atmosphere, playing on my IPS panel even with the beautiful colors, you can feel the lack of blacks and depth that is required for a this type of atmosphere, but that's just my take on going back and forth with my Odyssey G7 (VA), LG32gq850 (IPS) and LGC1 (OLED) but that's just a nitpick here and there.

I can't make any well thought out reviews at the moment so I'll write what I do hear consciously.

"Spider pig spider pig
Does whatever a spider pig does
Can he spin from a web
No he can't hes a pig
Look oouuutttt
He is a spider pig"

Let's be honest guys you got this game because we're all men of culture :)
Aside from the higher resolution and fps, the mods is where the real game starts.
Something the ps4 and ps5 version will never be able to do. Tifa's and Aerith's assets relaunched ;D

So I had 3 choices, to get this game on. Xbox, Sony, and PC.
Sony has censored parts of this game to be allowed on their platform.
Xbox has a limit on their fps.
PC has no limits.

The choice was easy..
