Great survival crafting game in the Dune universe! Mostly PVE, with optional PVP elements in specific locations and at endgame. Lots of fun to be had, especially with friends. The worm is a constant threat, so watch out for Shai Halud.
EDIT: I'm nearly 200 hours in now, playing solo and still having a great time. The PVE part of the game is solid. I can't speak for PVP as I haven't participated in any yet. I have been to a couple crashed ships in Hagga Basin but there were no other players when I was there, just NPCs. Changes to worms have made them even more dangerous, so getting around in ground vehicles can be exhilarating, and deadly! Still highly recommend this game!

Don't be intimidated, the game will teach you while you play! I was interested but skeptical, and fell in love with this pretty quick. Very neat game, makes you use your brain, and it feels so sooo good when you figure something out! Hack NPCs and other players, steal GC, get hacked, lose your GC, join a Wizard guild, get a cool hat, LOSE IT ALL AND START AGAIN!! You'll be cackling maniacally the whole time.

There is so much flexibility in this game! You can fight other ships (npc or PC), you can play the market and make billions, you can mine ore and sell it on the market, you can produce various goods from ships to ammunition, you can salvage wrecks and profit on your finds, or you can be a space trucker and haul ♥♥♥♥ around for others if you want! Definitely more fun with friends, but very easy to make them in game!!

First and foremost, remember that this is EARLY ACCESS. This is not the final state of the game, and most likely will get much better from here. There are regular updates, and the developer is paying attention to feedback from the community. They have already added features that people wanted, are working on a lot of other issues, and working on better optimization for PCs with high or low specs. These guys care a lot about this game, and it shows!

This game gives me an adrenaline rush I have never had from a video game before! The tension of not knowing where your enemies are, coupled with the frantic search for weapons and body armor, was something completely new to me. Very fun even in Solo, but much more so with a teammate in Duo or a whole group in Squad. Very much worth the $30!
