This is my first Touhou game. I like everything about this game, except for the blatantly over-tuned mid-bosses on Stages 4 and 5.

It's a very challenging game. You will suffer, but that's okay because suffering builds character.

in this game there is lebron james, which is normally bad, but the difference is that in this game you get to send lebron james flying off a cliff into the 4th dimension, so it is acceptable

There's a lot of strategy in this game, and near-limitless potential for different kinds of character builds.

Want to be an invisible pyromancer who can sneak up behind people and burn them to death? You can do that. Want to be a ludicrously mobile stone-shaper who can fly into the air and then chuck boulders at people? That's a thing. Want to be a sniper who can see players through walls and act like they're in some kind of predator flick? YOU CAN DO THAT.

The game has 2 main gamemodes, Dominion and Battle Royale. Dominion was only released a couple weeks ago, but it's already vastly superior to battle royale with a ranked mode and fun team-based gameplay. Despite the playerbase having a heavy bias towards Dominion, most of your battle royale matches will still be filled up.

The game is monetized in a very friendly way. I haven't spent a penny, and yet I have awesome cosmetics alongside enough gold (the premium currency) to get every chapter pass for a full year; Which adds up to an incredibly generous amount of rewards, cosmetic and beneficial.
And if you somehow manage to max out every single class in the game, and obtain every single account leveling milestone up to 100, you can still get lots of gold through the use of daily quests.

All in all an amazing game, worth checking out. It's free, and it will reward you properly for time spent playing the game unlike most live service games on the market.

They fixed the new DLC's issues, so I no longer have any qualms with the state of the game. Risk of Rain 2 is a wonderful title that has brought plenty of joy into my life!

298 hours in, it's only been like 1 month since the steam launch, please help.

This game is great.
Go make some dumb pvp build and murder people in the crucible.
The endgame isn't raids, or "nightfall strikes" or anything like that. It's fun.
Go into momentum control with a prometheus lens and melt people near-instantaneously.
Or go into mayhem with ashen wake gauntlets and throw fireballs at people all the time.
Perhaps bring khepri's horn into mayhem with a solar weapon and 5 paragon mods, and have 3 damage-blocking barricades up at once, guarding a chokepoint by yourself.


Play the endgame.
Not the "endgame", the real endgame.

Good game. Find a friend or outfit leader to show you the ropes or else you'll be clueless
