Honestly, this game is really good, even as it is now. Yes, it could see some improvements and QOL changes, yes it needs the previously released factions adding (which is already planned) but the core gameplay is enjoyable, the graphics and many mechanics have been improved over the previous title, the multiplayer needs significant development but has a well designed new mode, the current campaign is thematic and a lot of fun the first time around.

You can choose to ignore it if you dont like it, you can install a mod with one click that disables it all together, you can use it to completely cheese the game (300,000+ treasury on turn 35) or you can use it to fight cool demon armies in cool chaos realms whenever you want, AND immediately teleport to stop the AI completing the final battle, giving you the chance to fight all the other major faction leaders. I think a lot of people have misunderstood the point of this campaign and the idea is really very good, the chaos realms look amazing, they just needed to implement different victory conditions for each faction. (There's now a very good mod for this, compatible with achievements.)

If you enjoy the warhammer universe and enjoy this style of game, you probably will enjoy it. It is also available on gamepass, you could get the one month trial for gamepass for free, try the game, and then decide if you want to buy it along with any future DLCs.
