Not my cup of tea. Considering other reviews, I expected a decently realistic SWAT sim, instead, I got arguably dumb AI in a sandbox setting where you'd need your own imagination for immersion.

A few scenarios I tried felt like 'just remember where the baddies are and headshot all of them, then follow the same 'arrest, report, etc' routine and finish the level. Apparently, suspects occasionally do something creative, like pretending to be dead (coming from others' reviews, never happened in my case because of headshots) or using civilians as body shields
(can confirm that much, but it's also really random, happened once across all attempts, in all others they just ignored them). That would really be cool and add to the 'realistic sim' part if executed properly, however, that wasn't the case in my experience.

Lastly, even though I didn't really care about that, the game has very generous equipment customization, so if you're into that you'll enjoy that part for sure.

Since Steam doesn't have any options except 'recommend' and 'don't recommend', I have to choose the latter, even though the main idea behind my review is 'failed to meet my expectations based on others' reviews', not that the game itself is bad, so certainly give it a try and see for yourself. Personally, I don't understand why the game is so highly rated in its niche of a 'realistic SWAT sim', but that's okay.

The later you play it, the better. All major game-breaking bugs that would hard lock players seem to be fixed, but the devs still adjust the balance (previously it was super easy to have infinite turns, stack stats to the point where your characters would be literal gods & oneshot everything on the hardest difficulty) & fix the remaining laggy-buggy stuff. I do hope they also fix terrible UI moments like Rumours not disappearing after you're done with them.

Apart from that, a very nice game for all WH40k fans with lots of content, interesting RPG choices (especially those, where being a classic 'goody two shoes' results in the worst possible outcome), and good replayability. It's already at the point where it can be recommended.

Really wanted to like it, especially because of the setting, overall gloomy atmosphere which was very fitting and well-executed, and some technical (aka doing sth with your game files) shenanigans, but the emotional parts of all twists & drama were too diluted by walking & backtracking. The game is anything but bad, but still can't really say I recommend it. Steam needs sth like a cosmetic neutral option, I would be fine with it not affecting the scores.

Quite similar to PoE with enjoyable setting. Multiplayer-related lags & bugs like 'loot that can't be picked up by guests' are pretty much the only downside, it's a shame they haven't been fixed since forever.
