As much fun as I've had with this game, and how much I enjoy the combat with humans, the game is in a state that should never have made it to launch. The memory leak is by far the most disruptive problem in the game, slowing game play to a crawl maybe an hour or so into a session. A game that runs at 144 frames on a 4060 suddenly stuttering to an unplayable mess while I'm in just not acceptable.

The combat in the game so far is pretty good, but only within the bounds of human combat. Mutants are an absolute resource sink, taking so many rounds of ammo to deal with just bloodsuckers. And for no reward at all for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out all the ammo you have to not die. Maybe for some people, that's enough, but when mutants drain all of your ammo and the durability from your gun and armour, it means that you are constantly having to dump money into the endless hole of repairs and buying supplies.

Bottom line, the game is really fun, and I love it, but it needs to seriously be balanced, and optimised before I can recommend that anyone buys this game, because it's not worth the money for an experience that relies on you having a top-end PC and a love of stalker to enjoy your experience.

First off, I have loved this game so far. I am not a fan of horror in the slightest, in fact, I almost pissed myself when I played this, but that's what made it as fun as it is. Of course, this game is best with friends, and depending on the map, the number of friends you bring should change for the optimal experience (In my opinion).

On smaller maps, from personal experience, 4 people is fun, but the most fun, and the most engaging games I played was with a single other person to help. It created a greater sense of teamwork, and when we had to go in alone, with one person sat in the van, so that we could work out that the ghost was a shade, we were more scared than we had been in most of the other games we had played. Having thought my friend died because he didn't answer his radio, it created a genuine sense of worry, one that I didn't feel when a friend had died in any previous games because I could rely on the others to finish the job.

On Medium maps, it might be best to have 3 or 4 people, and obviously, 4 people on large maps is probably a good idea, although I've not played much of those maps yet.

One other thing I really like, is player agency. You can choose if you want extra gear, and you can earn it with money. Bringing special gear that you didn't need to bring, but can help, and having it actually come in handy, like salt against a wraith or smudge sticks against a spirit, feels so good, and it is down to player choice, not a forced mechanic.

Honestly, this is a good game. Maybe not $30 AUD good, but a friend owed me, so he got it for me, hehe. And it'd be best to get this over with quick, there are some flaws to this game, definitely. On some maps, collision is a serious problem, where if you aren't in the first group to leave, you're likely going to stay at the back with the others because you'll be knocked about, and it's a rough time. There are also certain maps and games that kinda suck too, like rising slime and the football/soccer game that you can cheese. But other than that, I don't have many problems, in fact, I enjoy the game quite a lot, even though I've only played for an hour or two when writing this review.

To move onto positives, I really enjoy how you can play with friends, which can be worked around, sometimes, by queuing up at the same time, and I've had a blast with that. Because the only way you'll be pitted against each other is in team mini-games, which usually knock out a single team, you can still co-ordinate and play together as friends, rather than as enemies. The customisation, and the addition of a free, battle-pass like progression system with customisation options is also really, really nice, as it allows customisation without necessitating spending money on the in game currency.

Overall, so far, I like this game, and I will continue to play it with friends, and maybe even on my own, because quite frankly, I'm having a blast, and it seems like a lot of others are as well.

Good game for a larger group. With a bit of tweaking, could be enjoyed with less than 8-10 people, but it's a toss up.

While the graphics aren't the best in this game, it literally means nothing when you look at the actual game play, the story line, the characters, the soundtrack and the various mini games that you can play all around both Kamurocho and Sotenbori. This is honestly one of the best games I have ever played, and that can be put down to how the game knows when to be serious and when it can cut back and be funny and weird. I have close to 60 hours in the game purely from my first run, mainly playing mini games and doing the various side-quests around the game, which alone makes the game worth the $25 (AUD) in my eyes.
