I'm almost 40 hours in and there's still so much more for me to do.

This game offers an expansive open world that's easy to lose yourself in for hours. The landscapes are stunning, from dense forests to charming villages, each with its own story. The quests are intricately woven into the fabric of the game, providing a deep narrative experience. I genuinely believe this game has the potential to be GOTY.

One of the highlights is the assortment of minigames which add layers of immersion, whether you're playing Dice, engaging in lockpicking or pickpocketing, or participating in fight contests, these activities feel authentic and entertaining.

The alchemy system is particularly engaging allowing you to mix potions over a fire, and needing to follow recipes with high quality ingredients to create high quality potions.

Blacksmithing too is rewarding where you can forge your own weapons and armor. or sharpen your blades on the grindstone.

However, KCD2 isn't for everyone. It starts you off in a less than ideal state - literally covered in feces, requiring you to bathe, and find clothes before the locals will speak to you. The game's pace is initially slow, and demands a bit of immersion to appreciate fully. The combat system can feel clunky at first, particularly for newcomers to this genre, but once mastered, it adds a rich layer to the gameplay.
