One of the best games I've played in a long while.
No woke nonsense. No politics other than the fantasy politics of this made up universe.. Just good ol' fantasy gaming.
Men are REAL Men.
Women are REAL Women (although a better walk animation would be great).
Beast peoples are REAL Beast peoples..
You want a scantily dressed Sorceress who can float around and blast electricity? You can have a scantily dressed Sorceress who can float around and blast electricity. Nobody's gonna call you an ism or nada like that.
No weirdo stuff, no backwards characters with chick voices but they've got mountain men beards and builders hands.. Just normal, old school, dark medieval fantasy stuff to nerd out to!
Actually apologises, there's one confused looking bloke wandering around a border town that you'll come to but you can stay clear of him/it and he/it will leave you alone not a issue. I recall him saying something weird one time but I just turned around and pretended it wasn't there and it went away eventually.. Good practice for real life!

As close to a 'D&D' style, live action, no turn based, absolute madness combat - climbing up and on top of Giants heads to bash'em in, dancing past and under Dragons fire and pinging Harpies out of the sky as you can get. The combat was what made the first one so special, all those years ago and this time is no exception. Combat = Awesome.

World is alive and, bar oceans and map borders with invisible walls, if you can see somewhere and have some means/method of getting there, you can go there.

Pawn system is fun. Seeing the time, effort and imagination a lot of people put into their own pawns is very cool and often an insight into perhaps how they're own game is being played out and where they're at, in terms of party, equipment, level, vocations etc.. or just some of the deliberately hilarious pawns people put out there also.. Having your pawn 'return' from other players worlds back to your own, after rests, every so often with potential 'feedback' and/or gifts is also class! Especially when the pawn gives you small snippets of logistics and insights on how that player went about their game as they 'employed' your pawn, very cool, I like that feature - adds to the life of the game.

I've still yet to finish the story, I just bounced out into the world as soon as the leash was removed but now that the current group I'm partying is taking down dragons relatively quick, I think I should be getting on with it.
Honestly, the story could be crap, which, from what little I have seen, it seems it will be okay and not crap.. however it really doesn't matter, the game play, mechanics, the exploration and the visuals are more than enough. Very immersive.

I've saw complaints about micro-transactions but who gives a crap? They aren't pushed upon you or even mentioned within the game and they do nothing important. Everything available can be found in the game and relatively easily. It's an option, not an necessity.
There's been complaints about performance.. Personally, I've been lucky or it's been fixed, I've no idea but I'm playing on a 3060ti and that has sufficed. There is FPS drop in the city at times but nothing unplayable and let's face it, that happens. Baldurs Woke 3 has the same issue and it's game of the year apparently.

All in all great game, ignore the weird hate and buy it, if you can. Be prepared to sink many hours into it.

Played from Metro 2033 all the way to this and feckin loved every last moment. Awesome story! Now onto the DLC's.

Really wanted to like this game but it's Incredibly boring. Tried to play, got as far as sitting under a tree with an old fella and then I fell asleep.. woke up with my keyboard partially imprinted on my face; then my evil twin used me to play scrabble with. He ended up losing, if you wanted to know! Not for me and probably not for you. Stick. to. Scrabble.

Easily one of the best games out there..
Hands down.

Toxic, full of cheaters, difficult to get an edge on the sweats who put 24hrs a day in but other than that awesome game!
