A Fun Little Game for VR, but Needs Work
While the core concept of this game is very fun to play, the game has quite a few problems with it that would be easy fixes (and a couple problems that would be much harder to fix).

1. Handedness
This game defaults to using the right hand's controller as a sword, and the left hand's controller as a shield. This cannot be changed, which is quite an annoying problem for me as I'm a leftie. The only way I can play with my preferred hand arrangement is to take off the controllers and swap hands once I start the game. This gets old quickly.

2. Interface
The menu screens are very glitchy. Menu items will highlight and then not be deselcted when your pointer moves off them. Then when you pick an item, the game may send you somewhere else entirely. Sometimes it happens immediately and sometimes it happens only after the first new menu screen.

3. Discount Voice of GLaDOS
Your only comfort is a computerized voice which lazily tries to be another GLaDOS. Except the only joke it knows is how you're murdering the spheres that you've been tasked with defeating. And it mistakes the colors cyan and yellow in the tutorial (says cyan spheres are the fast ones and yellow ones curve, it's the opposite of that).

Verdict
This game is pretty hollow, but it has quite an addicting gameplay format. As a free game, play it and turn off the voice. And if you're a leftie, be prepared to swap controllers as the game loads. And no matter who you are, be very careful that your controller only points to the one button you want to push.

This mod is incredible. A definite MUST for any Portal fan. There's full on cinematics, new characters, new enemies, and it gives you a whole new perspective on what Aperture was back in its hay day. There's just SO MUCH GOOD about this that if you don't play it after finishing Portal 2 there is something wrong with you.

A Side Scrolling Puzzler, And That's About It
LIMBO is a side-scrolling game designed to make you chilled to the bone, except it doesn't do that for me. The gameplay consists of simple puzzles designed to be solved by dragging stuff around and/or hopping over stuff. From what I've played, the only semi-interesting bit has been the jump scares hidden by the black and white 2D art style. Once the puzzle is revealed to the player, the solution is completely obvious. This makes the game quite boring, and I lost interest fairly quickly. While the price is right for what this game is, I still can't find myself wanting to finish it.

Other Games Offer Much More for Much Less
INSIDE is a game all about the mystery and the suspense and the scare. Unfortunately, I find myself asking all the wrong questions to be immersed in this game. The jump scares (that this game lives on) don't work on me because I almost expect them before they happen. The mystery about what is going on is overshadowed by how such a massive project could go unnoticed. And the big killjoy is that I can't see for the life of me a single ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason why this kid would ever keep going once the guard dogs showed up.

This game is trying to build up its suspense in ever more elaborate ways, but I just don't get that vibe from it. It's an interesting storyline, sure. But it's not gripping, and this game is dependent on its storyline for your attention. The gameplay is a complicated puzzle-platformer style that, while challenging, wasn't very engaging. Most solutions are overly obvious and the few that aren't will only take you a couple of minutes to figure out. The true challenge of these puzzles is going through the somewhat tedious motions to get past them.

I wanted to like this game, especially after the trailers and the unique style of gameplay it seemed to present, as well as that ever-captivating story it all seemed to promise. The problem is that the gameplay is generic puzzler, and the storyline just isn't that captivating. Perhaps if horror style games affect you more than they do me, this game may be for you. However, for the slow storyline and boring gameplay I'm getting, I would never pay more than $10 for this game. Sorry guys. It looked good and I know you wanted to share something, but there's not enough making me want to keep playing.

We're way past full launch and the devs still haven't bothered to fix some seriously annoying and potentially gamebreaking bugs. I gave the game credit back when it was still in development but it's inexcusable at this point some of the things that are going wrong here.

There's literally an exploit for infinite cash via shares & loans and the devs can't even be bothered to patch it!!!

Edit: What the ♥♥♥♥ Paradox!? Why does this suddenly need a second launcher and a product key to play?

This review is a thorough and comprehensive breakdown of what is in Star Trek Online. I fully expect it may make some want to play the game, even though my personal opinion is negative. I explain this in the conclusion.

An Overview of Star Trek Online
Star Trek Online (STO) is an MMO set in the Star Trek Universe created by Gene Roddenberry. This is the universe that started with Star Trek: The Original Series back in the 1960s and included The Next Generation as well as many more TV series and movies. This is NOT the Star Trek from the 2009 movie, Star Trek: Into Darkness, and Star Trek: Beyond.

tl;drYou thought I would just put it here and let you skip my whole thought out review? The NERVE. JK: it's at the bottom if you really don't want to read this.

The Story Gameplay
Your character, which you can go to extensive lengths to customize (more on that later), begins as an acting officer aboard a vessel. Almost immediately, they will become the captain due to an unfortunate series of events. From this point forward, you take permanent command of the vessel and complete missions which unfold into a story. Each season of missions covers a new storyline. This part of the game is what I found most enjoyable.

The MMO Experience
Put simply, there is little in terms of actual MMO gameplay. You fly around at warp and can see other player-controlled ships flying by on their way to other destinations. In addition to that, there are PvE events which you have a fairly decent chance of filling up the mission queue to get it to start. But PvP is ABSOLUTELY DEAD. In all my hours of playing STO, I've never EVER been able to engage a PvP event because no one wants to play (and to be honest, the controls aren't exactly good for making this a PvP game anyway). And as far a co-oping missions, if there is a way to do it, no one told me. The missions, story or daily, seem to all be single player only.

Character Creation/Customization
Both when you first create your character and any time you're at a starbase, you'll have the opportunity to modify your character's outfit and appearance with an amazing amount of freedom. Pick from dozens of outfits (less if you don't spend ZEN on them) and use any color scheme you want to (Just a recommendation: make your character an ALIEN. By doing so, you'll be able to give your character almost any features from any race you want, other than a cat tail, and you can much more drastically alter your character's appearance later on.). Also, not only can you modify your own captain, you can also modify the appearance of any of your bridge officers.

The ship customization is also surprisingly liberal (no, not the political orientation). Your ship typically be configurable with parts from at least three classes of starship, allowing you to make starship combinations that never existed in movies or on the wiki. In addition, you can choose what type of windows you want, as well as painting your ship with a variety of decals, in the colors of your choice (though only some of the decals are actually good, and only on some ship classes).

The Progression System
As you complete more missions, you'll earn experience points that help you rank up and acquire bigger and better ships. At every 10th level (at least up to 50) you earn a free ship of the next tier, in any one of the three ship classes. However, to claim each bigger and better ship, you'll need an open ship slot. If you don't have any, you'll have to give up one of your smaller ships for it, and unless you bought it with ZEN Tokens, you'll have to pay to get it back.

The Currency(ies)
Energy Credits
At the start of your Star Fleet career (or Klingon or Romulan career), your missions will all award you in Energy Credits (EC). These are useful for buying basic upgrades for starships, low level healing kits, and basic weapons. Because of the upgrades you'll either collect as loot or be awarded for completing missions, this means that you'll rarely spend any EC outside of the Exchange, what you use to sell items to other players. In addition, they are also used to pay for appearance changes (to player and starship) that don't require the use of ZEN Tokens. These latter uses are what most of your EC will be spent on.

Dilithium
This will be what you both loathe and need during most of your STO gameplay. Dilithium crystals (DC) are the currency that is not only used for purchasing most starships, but also for fleet projects, purchasing ZEN on the Dilithium Exchance (DEx). As a result, you'll always be somewhat short on the stuff. However, you cannot get DC directly. Instead, you complete missions which award you Dilithium Ore (DO) that then has to be refined to DC. It occurs at a 1:1 ratio, but you can only convert a maximum of 8000 per day. In addition, the missions you can complete to earn DO are long, tedious, and low reward. It's difficult to even hit the maximum-refined-per-day. This is where the DEx comes into play. Some players will pay with real cash to get ZEN, then sell that ZEN on the DEx to get DC directly, with no daily limits and very little waiting.

ZEN Tokens
The paid, real-world based curency of STO, this annyoing gold coin is necessary to buy some higher tier items in STO. These include the refit and retrofit starship variants, as well as ALL Tier 6 starships and most small craft (except the Danube Runabout). As with all real-world-based currencies, ZEN is cheaper per-unit as you buy in larger amounts. However, by using the DEx, you can obtain ZEN without ever spending a penny on this game; it'll just take a long time. This is to do with how much grinding it takes to earn DO. It also doesn't help that the price of ZEN on the DEx is always increasing, since there's always more demand than supply. When I started playing STO, the exchange rate was around 80 DC per ZEN. Now, it's at 400 DC per ZEN, and it's only going to get higher. That said, if you can take advantage of a slow period of buying in the market, you can get ZEN a little cheaper and turn it around for a profit of DC. It'll only be a minor victory though, since you'll always want more. More for more character slots, more ship slots, more advanced ships, a character rename, a cool outfit, The Original Series ships and outfits, ... I think you get the idea. No matter how much ZEN you earn through the exchange, you'll have to buy some with cash at some point if you want to buy more than one or two things with ZEN during your STO career.

Reputation
This one is the most confusing and the last to worry about. Once you reach Level 50, you'll be able to take part in reputation missions for a variety of factions, including New Romulus, the Dyson Joint Command, and the Delta Alliance. These missions will give you Reputation Marks (RM) that you can use on projects for that specific faction. On completion of the missions, you will earn Reputation Points (RP) that can be spent in combination with DC on highly advanced equipment. There is also a similar system for Fleet advancement, but Fleet projects can be contributed to by anyone in the fleet, and only started by high ranking members.

Fleets
The closest thing to a community or faction this game has, fleets are groups you join for a few small benefits. You get another daily mission, and when the fleet is big enough, access to another dilithium mine (and DO mission) which you can transwarp to from the fleet's starbase. If there's more to fleets than that and the projects, I never experienced it.

Conclusion/TL;DR
If you just want to play this game for the single-player story missions, go for it. I enjoyed the story. For a fun multiplayer MMO experience, I'm sorry. It's not here, and that's why I don't recommend this game.

The general gist of this game is what happens when Minecraft and Factorio have a baby. Unfortunately, it didn't work out quite like that. For a logistics based survival game, I would much rather play Factorio, and for a block-based world, I would much rather play Minecraft. Don't get me wrong, this game isn't a bad game. It's just there are other games that do the job better, in my opinion.

Early Access -arvostelu
What is Factorio?
Assuming for some reason you skipped the game description, Factorio is all about building an incredibly efficient logistics network. You're stranded on an alien world and your only hope is to get a distress satellite into orbit to call for help. The trouble is, you don't have the technology to do so. Your logistics network will expand and evolve as you research new technologies necessary to build the rocket and satellite, and you'll be making "friends" with the locals along the way (handshakes are done in the form of bullets).

Ugh, Logistics Sounds SOOOO Boring
It really isn't though. Because you start off with only basic technologies, part of the fun of playing this game comes from unlocking higher-tier technologies and implementing them to boost your production speed and capacity. As you progress, you'll be unlocking high-speed conveyer belts, logically operated machines, automated cargo trains, and even a fully functional drone network that can auto-repair damage done by the locals, as well as getting stuff from A to B where there's no room for conveyer belts.

Your "Friendly" Neighbors
As your production begins to grow in scale, the local population will have more and more bones to pick with you. At first, you can keep them at bay with the starting pistol, but as your production scales up and you eliminate more waves of them with your automated defenses, they'll learn how to protect themselves and attack your defenses much more effectively. As such, you will have to dedicate some of your resources to improving and expanding your defenses.
The Big Decision
As a strategy, you will have to decide whether your mounted turret focus will be bullet-fed turrets or laser turrets. The laser turrets are definitely easier to maintain, being that all they require is a power supply, but they consume a LOT of power. The bullet-fed turrets don't consume any power directly, but making the bullets and getting them to each of the turrets in an automated fashion is a material-expensive process (or if you use robots, energy expensive). You might think using both is easy, but each type of turret has a different set of research jobs to upgrade its functionality. So you can either research a max-out on one type, or be only partially upgraded on both. So for the sake of resources, stick with one turret type.

Conclusion
This game will challenge you for a long time to achieve a successful launch in a single world (my shortest success time was 29 hours). It's challenging and at the same time very fun because of all the different ways you can attempt to solve the same problem. My only complaints are that the UI is somewhat lackluster, and the object sprites are lower resolution than is desired on a 1080p monitor. Also, since it's in Early Access and still evolving, the Campaign missions are a bit broken, but that should be getting fixed soon.

tl;dr
This game is addictively fun. There is no rehab program. Enjoy.

You will enjoy this game. 9/10

NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY.

Gameplay
If you're looking at this game because you played FSX and are getting nostalgia for it again, you'll find everything is exactly how it was on the original CD release. All the control mappings and defaults are the same. Flight controls are the same. Missions are the same. It's the same simulator that Microsoft released a full 10 years ago. The scenery is that outdated look and the engine still has the same fun problems (except for some compatibility issues, see "Steam Edition"). The plus side is the base package can be run on max settings from even mid-range laptops with integrated graphics.

Steam Edition
Let me explain just why this game is now available on Steam. Dovetail Games (a pretty bad developer who sees itself as the god of sim-games) bought the rights to distribute FSX 2 years ago so they could make their own flight simulator. What they did for FSX was quickly patch some issues with compatibility for Windows 8/8.1 devices (and probably W10 too), so that it could run on Steam users' current PCs. Then they released it into the wild to earn cash to fund their development project for a new flight sim. I don't think they've touched it since.
Warning!
Lots of add-ons for MFSX will not work with the SE version for a number of reasons. The most basic is that an add-on refernces the standard installation directory, which is not where the SE version is installed. There are other reasons, but I can't really explain them.

Persistent Issues
While Dovetail supposedly fixed some compatibility issues with newer operating systems, they certainly didn't fix all of them. In addtion, there are some things they should have fixed before re-releasing this on Steam. For example, the mission compass is still really stretched out on a monitor that isn't at a 4x3 aspect ratio. If you use DX10 rendering (better performance), you will never be able to go near an airport because of the horrid texture clipping that occurs. Every line and every asphalt surface that overlap encounter the WORST texture clipping with the DX10 engine. And if you go back to the default renderer, DX9, it then becomes impossible to see some pause menus (for example, rebinding keys mid-flight). Instead all you see is a black screen where you know there should be a menu. At that point, the only thing you can do is close the program externally. So you're basically forced to have massive texture clipping.

Conclusion
While I miss the days of FSX when it was new, I definitely am not reliving those now. The software has so many issues relating to newer operating systems that it makes the game unplayable on any modern platform (especially on the Windows 10 that Microsoft has been shoving down our throats). If I had a computer running Vista or XP (both no longer supported by Microsoft, fyi), this would be a worthwhile buy. However, to get this playable on a modern system requires you to dig around the web for solutions that involve manual edits to the game's source code/installation files. It's just not worth it.

Footnote to Dovetail Games
Dear Dovetail: how is it when you're given only a handful of things to do that you still manage to fall short? Even a cash grab should be well patched to work on a modern system. And you saw that your new flight sim/school was targeted at the wrong audience (I mean, what did you expect? The last good flight sim at its release was THIS, in 2006, or XPlane, which is quite a bit more complicated to use. Of course we're first in line for a new flight sim). And can we talk about how all of your other sims seem to tank in the reviews as well? You're not acclaimed for anything, and the only thing you're renowned for is pissing people off with ♥♥♥♥♥♥ simulators. I.E. your train simulator should still be in the oven for optimization fixes. Your new flight school still has a lot of artifacts from the FSX engine like details popping into view and it's only got 2 planes. From all I've seen, you're one of the worst developers I know of. I WANT to enjoy a new flight simulator. Don't push out a release too early when you build the full thing. GET IT RIGHT. It's so frustrating when a developer is desperate for cash so they push a game out before it's ready. Then it never gets fixed and everyone hates it. Thing is, this is what it feels like you, Dovetail, are doing with EVERY SINGLE THING YOU MAKE.

Watch_Dogs Bad Blood is another adventure in the Chicago of ctOS. I, and many others, will agree that this DLC is as good of a story, if not better, than the original story. Especially now that this game has been out for a couple of years and the playerbase has dried up, the DLC is the best way to get more out of Watch_Dogs. If you're looking for a totally new game in DLC, this isn't it. But it is a great expansion with some significant replay value. I think it's worth the money, you may believe it only worth a sale price. In either case, any true Watch_Dogs fan should play this expansion.
