I don't know anything about Touhou (and I finished the game), but I'm a huge Shin Megami Tensei fan. This game evokes the best of the Super Famicom era SMT games and adds it's own great flair to mechanics from that series. It's absolutely a spiritual SMT game and if you like SMT, I recommend it for that alone. I'm sure probably Touhou fans will love this too, but even if you know nothing about Touhou, but like SMT, you will have a good time here.

I kept going and did the superboss and got all of the endings and had an absolute blast with this game. The soundtrack is a banger.

Like I said before, you do not need to know anything about Touhou going into this. You're sure to have a good time.

I loved the first game, and have followed Kotaro Uchikoshi's games since 999: 9 Hours 9 Persons 9 Doors on the Nintendo DS. I expected this one to be at that standard too and it exceeded my expectations. They refined a lot of the gameplay from the first game, such as the Somnium puzzles having a lot more logic to them, even with a system to give you "rules" to each Somnium, rather than just trial and error. The dialogue and characters are enjoyable and the story is incredibly well written. Something Uchikoshi always does well is never forgetting that the stories he tells are video games, and thus you can do things differently than you would in something like a book or a movie. There comes a twist later in the game that really capitalizes on that.

The game still has a ton of sexual jokes like the first one, and depending on if that bothers you that may affect how much you enjoy the game, but what I will say about that is it doesn't feel as skeevy as it does in the first game. This is mainly because the jokes aren't coming from the player character themselves this time.

The ending was very satisfying with a twist I definitely didn't see coming. I'm unsure if I like it better than the first one, but it's very stiff competition.

There was a little bonus unlockable thing that made my jaw hit the floor. I don't want to say much more about that because the surprise was incredibly nice.

Play this game! I absolutely loved it!

Persona 5 Strikers was exactly what I wanted in an action Persona game. It faithfully implements mechanics from the rest of the series in an action combat form. If you play on hard mode, it's a significant challenge and much more fun, as you have to pay attention to what skills the enemies are using on screen.

You probably should play Persona 5 or Persona 5 Royal first, as there's a lot of references to it that you might miss. You also won't have context on who all these characters are, as the game seems to expect you to know them already for the most part.

You might think with Koei Tecmo/Omega Force's involvement in development, that this is a musou/warriors game. It is definitely not. It's an action RPG. There are only mini-hordes of enemies, and you actually have to watch what all the little enemies are doing, as the skills they use can cripple you in an instant. You initiate combat on shadows walking around, that burst into multiple enemies. You want to try to be stealthy so you do not end up in a fight you can't win, as well as raising security level in the Jail.

If you like Persona games (or even Shin Megami Tensei games), I highly recommend checking this out. The story can be a bit nonsense sometimes, but is fun nonetheless. There is no calendar time slot system like in Persona 5. The calendar only moves on with certain story events. You can enter and exit dungeons all you want, and the day will still stay the same.

I've played Elite Dangerous for years and wanted something like the PvP mode in that game but is actually alive. Having a successor to the X-Wing/TIE Fighter series is also great. The flight model is more Star Wars and arcadey than realistic like Elite Dangerous, but it is realistic as far as Star Wars goes, pretty much behaving like what you see in the movies.

If you've played Elite Dangerous, there's many mechanics here you'll find familiar. Power management much like Elite's exists, but behaves differently on both the Empire and New Republic Sides. You can drift with boosts. The comparison from Elite for that being boosting, turning off Flight Assist, pitching a direction, and turning FA back on.

The single player is decent fun, but the multiplayer is the main attraction. However there are only two modes: Dogfight and Fleet Battle. Dogfight is exactly what it sounds like, Fleet Battle is a neat mode. There's also only a small number of maps, and unfortunately EA has said there would be no post launch support. However on the bright side of that, there are NO microtransactions. Everything is unlockable without spending money.

The game supports VR and HOTAS, and if you have both of those, I highly recommend playing the game that way. VR in particular, you get a really strong feeling of being in the cockpit of these iconic ships. The game does not support headtracking (TrackIR, etc) in flat screen mode, so this is a major reason I recommend VR for the game. I have not played with a traditional controller myself, but have heard the game feels great on that as well.

If you want a X-Wing/TIE Fighter successor, with some mechanics much like Elite Dangerous, this might be for you. It's not a full priced game even at launch, and I imagine it will only drop off in price too, but it's definitely a lot of fun.

Persona 4 Golden is an classic that everyone should play. You do not need to have played any other Persona game to understand this one. While the dungeons are randomly generated and not quite as good as Persona 5's, exploring them is still fun as well as the combat. It hinges upon weaknesses and resistances much like the rest of the series and the Shin Megami Tensei series.

The game also supports high resolutions and can run at 60FPS. Seeing any Atlus game running at 60FPS is surreal, when all the rest of them run at 30FPS on consoles.

This absolutely worth it, especially at the current price. Hopefully this convinces Atlus that PC is a viable platform they should regularly release games on.

Every day's great at your Junes!

Nidhogg is great, simple to learn and a lot of fun. You will be shouting frantically at your opponent as you play, and it's a great game to bust out at parties/social gatherings. My girlfriend (who barely plays video games) was able to pick this up and we had a ton of fun with it.

For those that have never heard of or played this game before, I absolutely recommend it. It's a good hybrid of RTS and third person shooting. Think sort of along the lines of Fire Emblem crossed with Advance Wars crossed with Command & Conquer.

As for those that did play it on the PS3, I can easily recommend this version. Playing this at high resolutions and framerates is super nice. It is easy to downsample it to 4k on my 1080p monitor and I can STILL get 120FPS. The only problem I have had that is worth noting is a bug where the tank can't go up hills if you are playing on 120 FPS. Hopefully Sega issues a fix for this.
