its a fun game. Ultimately, the magic is when you're just figuring stuff out. Admittedly, I'm at tier 8 and the level of micromanagement needed to achieve endgame is not really worth it to me. The game is really all about input and output ratios. It's a math puzzle game disguised as a open world base building game. I would highly recommend this game, but with the caveat that the late game is pretty tedious and there's no real rewards past tier 6. Hopefully that gets improved in full release.

This game tries to bill itself as a tactical shooter. Not a sim but also not a cod clone. Well I can tell you this is a poorly made cod clone. Twitchy sweats are the order of the day. 0 realism. Refunded and uninstalled. This is a downgrade from the 2014 version.

Very well made game with a lot of potential. Right now there are only a few levels but each of them can be played with 5 different mission types, and every time you run the mission it will be different. Bad guys and hostages will be in different spots. Lots of replayability. Very tactical and unforgiving.

Did that sweaty nerd who has dedicated his life to this EA game see a fraction of a pixel move from 700 yards away?

First of all, I purchased this game because of twitter.

Developers have a right to make games about whoever, whenever, and whatever they want. That's part of the beauty of creativity. Just because someone is a certain skin color does not preclude them from making a contribution or great piece of work.

That said, I do have some thoughts on the actual game itself.

1) this game needs coop. Badly. The friendly AI is terrible and the enemy AI is pretty good. They will flank, take cover, and press you. Meanwhile your friendly AI just runs in and gets executed immediately.

2) this game needs coop.

4) this game needs coop.

5) not a fan of the camera angle. It's like slightly off over the shoulder. Just center it. Please? Switching between left and right is pretty useless and the camera angle is uncomfortable.

With those gripes aside. And the fact that THIS GAME NEEDS COOP, it's a very fun, simple game at this point. Graphics are good. Optimization is good. And the core gameplay is fun and challenging.

But in summary, this game needs coop.

First day experience:

Rummaged around the trash cans until I passed out from scratching myself on all of the various sharp objects, got really stinky, but had a great haul of bottles and old food.

Went to the train station and downed a bottle of rum that I found. Then I proceeded to accost every single person going in and out of the train station until I made a decent amount of change.

Noticed I was getting hungry so I smoked some of my cigarette butts and ate some food I scavenged from the trash.

I poceeded to get poisoned very badly. I began searching trash cans for bandages or cloth, but ended up cutting myself and passing out.

When I came to consciousness, I had 5% health and was still heavily poisoned with my morale at 5%.

I was frantically trying to find the hospital and accidentally ended up in the subway underground where I was mugged of every last cent I had, beaten, and died.

10/10 would play again

Fun concept, but really terrible optimization and attention to detail. Seems like a few unreal assets reskinned and packaged as a "sim".

Even with it being EA, i don't foresee the core elements i have concern with being improved.

Would definitely recommend waiting until release, and checking it out again. Not worth $20 bucks in "Early Access". Just a UR engine asset swap at this point.

Can't recommend this game. Controls are really unintuitive and clunky. Stuff as simple as mounting and dismounting machine gun crews takes like 10 different control presses. Game couldn't keep me through the tutorial.

What can I say... it has all the flaws of squad and no unique or interesting features. Matches become one sided beatdowns as the experienced players group up and dominate. it makes the game impossible to approach as a new player. Ultimately this game is a pass due to its playerbase. The base game is beautiful and the devs put a lot of work into the environments and models. Unfortunately, you'll always be up against a team of incels who make it unbearable to play.

Hard pass.

Game has a lot of potential. It's very basic at the moment, but charming.
