Risk of Rain 2 finally breaks the formula of 2d Roguelites and places the players in the 3rd person shooter format, and works incredibly well. Each hit from your character's weapon really feels like it has impact, part of which may be due to the incredible sound design in the game, including the stellar score by Chris Christodoulou. There are 8 characters (with more on the way) which honestly serve more as classes due to their immense differences. The game is a blast alone, with three difficulty scalings that hit the right spot, but the game improves even more with friends. You can strategize with each other for splitting items up, turning individuals into tanks or carries, but if you're like my friends it'll just be chaos, which is really how the game shines. The item pool isn't nearly as large as the binding of Isaac or similar games, but each item stacks infinitely, and the game even encourages you to go crazy with "3d printers" which allow you to exchange your items for a whole bunch of one specific item. Later on in the game, there will be so many enemies and numbers on your screen that you will literally not be able to tell what's going on, and you're gonna love it.

Also, as a side note: if you don't have any friends who play the game, there is a very active discord server where you can play with randoms who won't steal your items :^)

TLDR; good game, play game
