This game is pretty dope, not going to lie. It plays well for the price and definitely shows a lot of promise. However, as to be expected with an early access games, it has its flaws.

Pros:
For the purpose of this review, I'll compare this game to what most everyone is going to compare it to; Rainbow Six Siege. However, I feel that comparing this game to Siege is not allowing this game to really stand out for what it is. This game feels more closely compared to the Rainbow Six games of yesteryear. It brings back feelings of R6 Vegas and playing Terrorist Hunt with the boys.

The game is easy, as long as you play slowly. AI is not setting any next records for intelligence but they do the job. You can even attempt to arrest them, and interrogate them if successful! Gunplay feels decent and the overall fighting is enjoyable. Movement leaves a little to be desired, but isn't too terrible.

Gadgets are what you would expect from an old R6-esque game. Small breaching charges, and under door camera's on the attacking side, and door booby traps and sticky cameras on the defending side. I haven't had a chance to play too many online games, but I'm sure playing against a well organized team would be pretty enjoyable.

Cons:
Unfortunately there are quite a few, but given the price tag, its easy to explain them away. Some of the main ones that bothered me the most so far are as follows.

Sometimes there is a disconnect from what you see, and what your teammates see. There has been times where I am watching an AI mag dump into my teammate, and my teammate doesn't even know there is an enemy there. As well as vice versa, my teammate was spectating and an enemy that appeared to be doing nothing to me was mag dumping on his screen. So I'm not sure if that is a networking issue, or what, but it could be an issue.

Movement is clunky, and its easy to get stuck on things. Overall, the inertia in the game feels good, and its nice to not be able to run and gun. But there is a lot of times where I found myself getting stuck in door ways or unable to get past a teammate when getting shot at. There also seems to be a inconsistency as to when your gun goes into High Ready (points up to avoid shooting something) and that can sometimes lead to you shooting the ceiling when you should be able to shoot forward.

Another glaring issue is limited to the AI mode, and is honestly a pretty huge one. I know games like this don't tend to focus too heavily on the PvE modes, but its a great time killer, and I think if refined, this could be a great one. However, there was multiple times playing where we would get down to a couple AI's left and we would just be unable to find them. I know that Siege mitigated this by causing the last 10 AI to rush you. I'm not sure if this is the route Zero Hour would want to take, but running around the map for 20 minutes, or interrogating a single arrested Terrorist isn't fun.

All in all, this game is a great deal for $6. I have put 7 hours into it, and I intend to keep playing it. It has quite a few creative concepts that I have seen in very few if any other games. I feel if they handle it properly, it could be what R6S should have been all along. Give it a shot.
