Forever the best game for modding.

Considering the amount of fun I had with Payday 2's base game before they started doing weekly releases of DLC, I would say the base game as abso-bloody-lutely worth it, especially considering it has an insanely low price of around $5 in sales.

Unfortunately, there are a set of massive problems with the devs:
- First is the "microtransaction disaster": this was a promise about 3months after launch where Overkill bluntly said "THERE WILL NEVER BE MICROTRANSACTIONS". A few years later, and theres now a section of the Steam market dedicated to paid guns which are small upgrades of the originals.
This blunder from Overkill dropped their peak players per day from around 100,000 to a maximum of about 30,000. WITHIN A WEEK.

- Secondly is the lackluster quality of DLC as time goes by; it seems like Overkill are spending less and less time on each DLC, while releasing each one closer to the last release. Quantity over Quality seems to be a motto for Overkill at this point, and with each DLC costing around $5 (so about the cost of the main game on every sale ever) and taking about a year to go on sale, you would probably end up spending around $200 if you wanted to get the game with DLC with no sale.

Do yourself a favour: buy only the base game, and get it on sale. The rest is not worth it unless you want to play a certain heist with friends. And also, do not trust Overkill anymore to keep up with their promises; they could end up changing their mind a few months later or delay their promised "rewards" (Still waiting for that hype train reward Overkill!).

I hate and love this game in equal amounts.

MTX and Battlepasses are my main gripe with the current state of Dota, so not much bad in my eyes.
