Edited as Sony reversed course... for now

On May 31, Sony will be requiring Steam users to have a linked PlayStation Network account in order to play after the game has been running more or less perfectly without the linking for three months.

Too many games require third-party accounts, and PSN accounts with their notoriety for data breaches are some of the worst to be trusted with anyone's data. I won't come back if the accounts are made mandatory.

Great action game. Someone put it as "heavy cognitive load" when it comes to the action and pacing of the game - I agree with this. Lots of UI elements, noises, explosions, using all four of your weapons effectively, and insanely fast movement. If that makes you doubt how much fun you'll have, you should check out videos of the gameplay before buying. If you're a methodical DS/ER/BB gameplay enjoyer and you're looking for more of the same, this isn't it.

I hadn't played any previous Armored Core games going into this. I saw VaatiVidya play the first mission in before release, so I knew going into this it wasn't going to be "Armored Souls" and an idea of what to expect.
