It's a good game. It's fun to play. The last two story fights are cinematic spectacles that make you feel really cool.

Comparing to Monster Hunter World, World's story was longer, and it had deeper monster systems with the tracking and researching; I prefer the way World handles gear, and either I'm completely blind or Wilds doesn't have a harvest box, so keeping your supplies up is easier in World.

But for gameplay I prefer Wilds. Better combat, better map traversal, better monsters; Wilds has the better story, and by FAR better characters. The only downside to the characters is Wilds has no chef of any kind, though I do like that our Hunters can cook on their own. The Wound system is way better than the Clutch Claw, but still serves the same function as a mandatory system that the hunts are designed around, but it *feels* good.

I've seen a lot of people complain about performance issues, which I never encountered despite playing on a prebuilt G10DK that I got on Clearance at Wal~Mart. This PC can't even run PoE 2, Marvel Rivals, or Black Myth Wukong. They all CtD after about 30 minutes.
Despite being last gen and discontinued, it ran the game at 4k on Medium, while on a two-monitor setup and 48 tabs of Chrome of the other monitor, and the only time I got frame stuttering is when a large monster did a massive, particle-heavy room-wide attack.

My only gripe, my only point of frustration with the game, is that it makes a habit of locking you out of playing the game until you progress the story. It will introduce you to a new area, have a new gatherable sitting RIGHT THERE by the entrance, but if you try to gather it, the game auto-pilots you back to the story path. Sometimes it introduces a new monster, one that makes you go "Oh, I need his weapons/armor" and then locks you from farming it, or even using the Smithy, until you do the next story quest.

Epic open world RPG with seemingly endless content, workshop excluded. Most certainly the most fun Elder Scrolls to date.
