Fallout 4 is the first Fallout game I ever played, I distinctly remember I got a copy of Fallout 3 along with it. I downloaded the game and I loved seeing the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Vault-Tec commercials that air which the game is first downloading on console releases of the game, and can be seen on start up sometimes. The game was mind blowing to me, the whole story reeled me in and made me fall in love with the characters and the world, I quickly bought all of the games available on console, those being Fallout 4, 3, and New Vegas and played them all through to completion. Although Fallout New Vegas is objectively better, Fallout 4 always held a special place in my heart, and held the position as my favorite game in the series. The reason for that, other than it being nostalgia for it since it was my first Fallout game, but I primarily attribute it to the addition of the settlement system. The large number of settlements allows for the creation of many unique and interesting environments and communities, which can be customized for different playthroughs. The system only evolves with the addition of the raiding system in the Nuka World DLC which allows for more customization. The addition of mods like any Bethesda game makes the base game so much better, especially the settlement system. Adding new features, extra buildings and decorations, new areas to build in, and so many more things make the settlement system something that makes every playthrough fun and unique compared to any other playthroughs. I have about 73 days total worth of gameplay on Xbox and 1200 hours as of right now on my PC. Despite the very high number that could hurt any mans pride to admit, almost every hour of that was a fun experience for me. A large plurality of those hours, days, weeks of that was spent in the settlement system.

Although Fallout 4 is my favorite Fallout game, and is one of my favorite games ever made, there are many flaws and bugs. As to be expected of a Bethesda game, Fallout 4 has many bugs that are annoying and sometimes downright game breaking. I'm currently writing this review after have 4 hours of gameplay wiped away without a trace for no reason whatsoever. And although moments like that many me extremely frustrated and upset, as it would any other sensible person, but I'm still going to get back into it and recover the progress I lost on that character.

TL:DR Fallout 4 is a great game with tons of customization and the ability to make every playthrough different from the last. It isn't perfect and has a lot of bugs but it's almost always enjoyable,
