So to start this, I changed my review to negative, but that's not because this is an objectively bad game. I LOVE it... when it works.

This game is a buggy nightmare, in the technical sense, not the literal sense, half the time. From game-breaking issues that cause the game to crash every patch to instability issues to problems that haven't been fixed since DAY ONE, it's becoming increasingly more obvious the longer you play and the more this game gets updated.

People praise Arrowhead for being good devs, but I gotta be honest, I'm starting to doubt it. With the lack of big bug fix patches and the fact they're more focused on selling more warbonds, I'm now of the belief they're just like every other generic greedy company, unfortunately. They made a very good and fun game that's riddled with so many issues that it's just NOT worth playing even despite how good the gameplay is when it does work.

These issues have genuinely made the game feel unplayable, and that's unfortunate. ESPECIALLY considering it finally got unrestricted after those horrible people at Sony came to their senses. I hope someday Arrowhead comes to their senses and stops releasing big updates until they fix the game, but I doubt it.

And I will ALWAYS add here that I HATE nProtect Gameguard. It's not the fact it's an anti-cheat, it's the fact it's a BAD anti-cheat that actively ruins the performance of games. Easy Anti Cheat games haven't given me as many issues as nProtect has, and I'm an avid hater for EAC for a similar reason.

I had a total blast with this game. There's a lot of valid criticism for it, like the gameplay being repetitive (it's a live service so) and the fact it IS live service instead of having an offline mode and all that, but overall I think it's a total blast for casual players who don't really care and just want some mindless fun. I think this game, despite it's flaws and the fake as hell 'controversy' from before, is a very good game. The characters are well written as well for the most part and the cutscenes look great. The story is also fun, but with a few minor hiccups.

I WILL say, however, to wait until it goes on sale if you get it. In my opinion, despite how good I think it is, it's not worth the 70 dollar price tag. 50 or 60 at best. So yeah wait until it goes on sale.

This game is the definition of toxicity. The game itself is brutally unfair and bs, the balance is whack, the players are toxic pieces of crap and overall it's a very unfun experience. Would not recommend.

In my opinion one of the best games I played in years. I will post reasons why it's good and reasons you might not want to play it, even if I love it to death.

Reasons why I love it and think anyone who loves similar games should get it.

1: CO-OP FPS with lots of unique and powerful weapons.

2: LOTS of customization. No one's classes are built exactly the same. There's a combination of cosmetics, overclocks which make your weapons do a whole bunch of different things from turning a grenade launcher into a nuclear bomb to making a Shotgun into a space shuttle that lets you fly across the entire map to whatever else.

3: No predatory monetization. This is the ONE game where buying DLC isn't required. ALL DLC IS ENTIRELY COSMETIC. On top of that, the season passes are entirely free and you level it up by just playing random objectives. That's it.

4: One of the BEST communities out there. There's always 'bad apples', but in this case they are few and far between. This game allows you to play every class and do well with enough experience, on top of the fact it's a co-op game where EVERY class plays a part in the team's success. No class is particularly underpowered. They all have limitations that others cover.

Here's why:
Scout can get unreachable resources with his grappling hook and lights up caves with his Flare Gun, but struggles to deal with hordes.
Engineer deals with those hordes with his sentries and can place platforms to help scout get to high/low places or to cushion people's falls, but struggles to reserve ammo.
Meanwhile you have Gunner, which has the highest sustained DPS out of everyone, has ziplines to help multiple classes get to high areas and has a shield to get bugs off people and cover his team, but his mobility options are the worst in the game.
And Driller can drill tunnels to get you out of missions faster, clear swarms easily with his many primaries and secondaries, but usually doesn't have the greatest single target DPS.

Overclocks, which I mentioned before, can change that whole dynamic but that's for y'all to figure out when you buy the game.

Every class can do everything, but one class specializes in that 'thing'. For example, every class can dig a path, but Driller does it better. Every class can get where Scout can, but Scout can do it the quickest and most efficiently. Every class can clear waves of enemies, but Driller and Engineer do it better. Every class can do single target damage, but Gunner does it better. You get the idea.

5: You get to play as a bunch of Drunk Dwarves.

6: Lots of memes. This game is a walking meme machine.

7: ROCK. AND. STOOOONE!

Reasons you may not like the game:

1: If you don't like First Person Shooters where you shoot a bunch of bugs, then this game is not for you.

2: If you're not into the whole 'chaotic fun' aspect then maybe this game is not for you. It is very much chaotic fun.

3: You love toxicity, for some reason.

That is my review of this game. Definitely one of the best games I have played in forever. FOR KARL!

While the bots are invading the game at the moment, I think this game is basically perfect considering how multiplayer games are these days. 15 years ago this game was made and from the characters to the art style to the weapons to... everything. It's so fun. It's so satisfying to play. I'm not good, and I haven't played it consistently, but the chaotic fun this game has is incredible. Sure, cheaters, bots, and toxic ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exist, but I don't run into em much. It's such a good game. I wish Valve would update it again.

Started playing the game recently, joined the discord, got some people to play with, now I have a world with an amazing village and I already beat the first 2 bosses. This game is so fun, even if it doesn't look super high quality and stuff. Graphics don't matter. Not to mention all the bugs in this game aren't game breaking, but hilarious. I used a hammer to send a Skeleton into the void below the map and it was hilarious. This game is the funniest game I've played.

This is literally one of the best old Star Wars games. I absolutely loved it. The story is amazing, the difficulty makes you feel like an actual clone trooper and overall it's just PHENOMENAL. The online is crap but it's mostly focused on singleplayer so I can give it a pass.

A lot of people continue to complain that it's a cheap cash grab or whatever. I do agree it's scummy that we have to pay for something that's FREE on the nintendo switch version of the game, but in my opinion 10 bucks for a story mode from a game that is drastically inferior to Xenoverse 2 is fine. Like, the story mode itself is 100% better than Xenoverse 2's, but gameplay wise xenoverse 1 is a total crapshoot most of the time.

It's not balanced at all, AI are stupidly broken either in an overly challenging or overly boring way, every single boss for some reason has super armor so you're forced to use ki attacks like destructo disk to break it, there's no snap/step vanishing etc. In this game it has none of those problems. Here you can trade blows with bosses all you want and no one can stop you from doing so.

I'm fine with it being 10 dollars since I never got to experience Xenoverse 1 fully, I just watched videos, but I knew the game itself was drastically inferior to 2 gameplay wise, so I got this DLC to play the xenoverse 1 story for cheaper on a better game. If you wish to do that, go ahead. If you want the og experience, spend more for xenoverse 1. Or get xenoverse 2 on switch and get this for free, your call.

Pretty good. Lacks balance, but that's expected since this is a beta. Some characters have some unfair tools and all that but it's mostly fine.

This game is only for masochists. Don't play it if you value your mental health.
