You could achieve a similar feeling to playing this game by taking a heroic dose of mushrooms and parading through the Seattle Art Museum. What plays like an art project, MANGO takes you through a hell-scape of abstract psychedelia as you uncover our characters traumatic past experiences in dated journal entries littered throughout the various levels. Though MANGO has objectives needed to continue, no puzzle or sequence is too challenging. The game wants you to spend time exploring, finding secrets, & admiring the unique architecture the developers laid out for the players. It seems apparent. Similar to LSD: Dream Emulator, textures and patterns are re-used in different levels frequently. The textures are pasted across a wide variety of distorted, nightmarish surfaces that give every single level and aura of uneasy familiarity. A first play took 4.5 hours to complete which is plenty of playtime & content for the $9.99 price tag. MANGO at it's core is an intense & whimsical experience that exceeded my expectations for an indie title in nearly every way. I highly recommend this game to any player that seeks an abstract psychedelic adventure that'll give you a run for your money.
