Early Access Review
RIP

You were once a great mech game with the amazing potential to be the best. I'm sorry you were built only to be used like a cheap microtransaction freemium ♥♥♥♥♥ and tossed aside like garbage. I do not reget spending money on you, although I both lament and rue those decisions.

Goodnight my sweet.

Welcome to a space game where every planet has already been discovered and utilized by alien civilizations, yet you get credit and monies for naming stuff that other aliens have been squatting on for millennium. Where creatures shuffle about like they all have seizures and your scanner has been on tumblr a lot or is broken as it identifies creatures' genders as Radical. Every planet seems the same, no matter how many different colors are washed over it, and floating metal footballs shoot at you if you harvest resources to survive. Biggest thrill is learning the alien language one tedious word at a time.

I bought this game with a hefty nerd scoff. Fully believing it to sit in a dark corner of my steam game library never to see the light of day as I played other titles that would hold my interest.

All those social media kids were just getting excited over another game with some cute characters and internet savvy humor. Still it had some appeal...

I launched the game. Looked harmless enough, started playing, started grinding and eventually killed an important NPC, quite by accident mind you. I tried to reload to undo a seemingly simple undesirable mistake any gamer might make… Surely everyone has at some point accidentally harmed an NPC and had to reload… such as setting a guard or townspeople on fire accidentally via a missed keystroke.

As I went to reload my save, suddenly there was consequence. My saves no longer mattered, actions done could not be undone, not truly! While I get a second chance it seems my previous attempt or decisions would haunt me through each choice or decision therein regardless if I reload a save or not. “What the hell” This was not just the cutesy RPG it appeared to be.

Still I reluctantly gave some more effort then quit, mildly frustrated that it didn't really follow the typical intuitive game play I had come to anticipate in similar games. Scolded for my choices, told to reload a save or try all over again; actions weight upon other actions. It was crazy. I didn't last long and quickly picked it up again resolved to find out more.

As I played I dreamed of the perfect ending to this game, what I really wanted (and expected) to see after this journey concluded. Each time I got close to what I could only assume to be the typical feel good ending, all was not what it seemed. I will say, I was not initially aware of the multiple gameplay paths that are common knowledge now (I just jumped right it). Still the game practically spits in your face and says “you IDIOT, you didn't think it would be this easy?” And by easy they mean straightforward or even intuitive! I lamented the weird ending I received only to find out I hadn't even scratched the surface of the game, there was more to do, much much more, hell it wasn't even the ending at all!

I will not lie ladies and gentlemen, this cute little RPG brought me to tears more than once. There has NEVER been a video game that has made my eyes water. But I digress.

This game is better than the hype, it's legitimately a good game. It takes you out of your comfort zone, makes you think, throws goofy comedy at you all while drowning you in darkness and despair. I highly recommend this game. It's highly deserving of it's praises.

More like this please! Intriguing story, strategic game play, beautiful art stylization, this game is so much more than I expected. I'm only in chapter 3 and already I can't wait to continue and learn more.

Don't waste your money. IW sold out the PC gamers on this title. I was a COD fan for many years but the franchise has been slain by this ♥♥♥♥ tier half finished unsupported pile of nonsense. Almost two months after release and it still can't run on my computer. EVERY other game of similar quality or higher specs runs like butter on my machine. This is clearly and unfinished half baked attempt to get con holiday shoppers into buying the next big TITLE in the COD series. The fact it doesn't work months after launch is just an insult. Wish I could get my money back.

An all too short interactive story that hooks you in and gives you a different perspective than what you may have anticipated. Starts off spooky and weird, you almost believe something is going to pop out at you any moment! As the story progresses you realize the story isn't about you, it's about the family, namely the sister and her life experiences growing into an adult while you were abroad. Discover why the new family home is abandoned upon your homecoming and piece together the secrets of your family, learning more about their true nature that family often keep hidden from one another. It's a great little game, short, sweet and wonderfully 90's. Give it a chance on a dark rainy night, you won't be dissapointed.

Just look at the Community Hub or metacritic...I wish I hadn't wasted my money on this garbage. Unplayable and I could barely handle a FEW HOURS of gameplay :(
