Delivering enough content to shame a full-priced game, FromSoft once again proves they are the captains of this genre.

A must buy. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. If you're even a passing fan of Elden ring, and Souls games as whole, this simply cannot be missed.

Scorn is a beautiful art museum of grotesqueries that genuinely had me shuddering, stupefied, and unsettled with each and every turn.

There is a saying in film making and Animation especially, "Make every frame a Painting." And Scorn takes that axiom to heart and plunges it into its very core. It is a beautiful experience of visual and auditory freakishness that'll stick with you for some time after.

What it isn't however, is pulse pounding horror shooter. The gameplay elements are simply vectors to further the game's bizarre art direction and to give players some agency in their jaunt through this nightmarish hellscape. Do not go into the game expecting tense RE style combat or deep mechanics. All of the game's elements are there to service the mood, the setting, and the tense, upsetting atmosphere it places the player in.

I thoroughly enjoyed the game, despite its brevity and its threadbare gameplay mechanics. I'd recommend it to anyone who'd shiver at the prospect at seeing something truly grotesque, bizarre, and deeply disturbing.

A wonderfully macabre and gruesome metroidvania. Dripping with mood, Brutally fun to play, and a constant assault on the eyes and ears; Blasphemous is absolutely worth your dollar.

If you enjoy the genre, then it's a must have. If you're new, give it a shot, but fair warning, there is little in the way of handholding, tutorialization, or overall guidance.

And, if you love amazing pixel art, buy the books.

Bunny hop or die. Wisps are miserable snipe shotting abominations from the deepest depths from a Military-boo's wet dream.

You will die. Often. For reasons that are entirely unclear.

I love this game.

With a little fenagling with the FAR mod, This game's most glaring issues, its sub-par port, are almost entirely nonexistent.

With that out of the way, This game is not only gorgeous and fast paced, But delightfully introspective. While not a glower rhumination on the nature of being and the definition of humanity, It does feed the player just enough to get their cogs turning; Which in our modern games' industry of "Push F to win" and "How hilariously racist can we be while making it look cool?" is a refreshing glass of tea.

Is it fun? Yes. If you enjoyed Ninja Gaiden, Bayonetta, Much of the DMC series. This game scratches that particular itch with aplomb.

Is it worthy of your 60 dollars? I'd say so. I had the luck of catching it half price and, after playing through 30 hours of it, I can say with certainty I'd play full price for this experience.

It also has alabastar gynoids with deliciously full asses.

Prepare to DONK, CLANK, SNAP, FIZZ, BANG, SPLURTCH, And probably some GGGGUuuugglll... as you traverse the Sci Fi Hell of The Surge.

So far, So fun. A great treat for my Souls muscle memory craving something similar after The Ringed City. Different, Competent, And Wonderfully aware of its roots.

I plan to play more, I hope ya'll do as well.
