Slav simulator in a somehow less wartorn version of Ukraine than today. I'd always recommend, 10/10, best game.

So after deciding to buy this game and the first one on a whim, I was originally under the impression that this was just another indie game with zero standing or appearance that differs from the typical indie title (IE: My Friend Pedro, etc).
I was sorely mistaken, as the Hotline Miami series is one of, if not THE best indie top-down shooters on the market to this day. The vaporwave aesthetic with the nice music, all paired together with the gruesome yet enjoyable gameplay, I haven't had this much fun playing a game in a long time. It really opened my eyes to the gaming scene yet again.

However, it does not end there.
The storyline is fantastic, introducing ideas of imminent death and the acceptance of one's fate. All the while forcing the player into extremely dangerous situations where they must go on psychopathic murder sprees throughout the city of Miami, Florida.
Pair that with the addition of the level editor, allowing players to make their own characters, canon, and stories inside of the Hotline Miami universe, there is just so much to accomplish in this game and I have only seemed to have scratched the surface.

10/10, Highly Recommend.

As someone who has spent nearly 11 days worth of time on this game, I can say that it's definitely one of the better free games on Steam. If you absolutely cannot afford any other survival horror game, this is the only real viable option that doesn't force itself down your throat with paid expansions and stronger loot for real money. Heck, it even gives the option skins out for free every so often as drops.

The only problem is that for some unknown reason, as the game progresses in development, its system requirements nearly skyrocketed for some extreme reason that made it damn near impossible for me to play for a bit. If they keep up with such a high demand, it might make the non-rich lesser computer users unable to play due to hardware limitations. The game might end up an accidental "paid game" when you have to upgrade your computer is super computer levels just to play the free game.

10/10 would play again

Do I really need to explain? It is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Garry's Mod. If you don't know about this game you need it ASAP. Nothing says fun like ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with Half-Life models.
EDIT: It has come to my attention that some people have not played Half-Life or Garry's Mod. These people need a life.
EDIT 2: Still has yet to get old after all this time.

After finally playing through the game, here is what I have to say about it.

People say you need to have little to no farming... Which is slightly wrong. I have so far had to farm at least 10 levels before going to the next fighting event... which is actually really fun! It adds that feel I like from JRPGs that requires a lot of work to actualy succeed. It reminded me of my times I would farm chocobo in FFVII to be able to get high enough levels and materials to fight the weapons. This game is very amazing if you wish to buy it, and I definately encourage you to play through the series!

In Short:

Lollis hunt down dangerous monsters, such as Playstation 4, Dragons, and Hard Drives in an attempt to make the most 4th wall breaking, hularious joke. The cast came straight from an anime, and they sound like they just left their home smoking blunts. Anyone playing this game will definately have police at the door in at least 6 hours in!
